Great little grinder. Grinds coffee for 1 Aeropress serving in about 40 seconds. Consistent particle size. I use it at work and use my other 1zpresso at home. Both are fast, better build quality than Porlex, handle design sturdier. I only use for Aeropress or pourover (sometimes use the Keurig refillable cups) so I can’t speak to those who take issue with it for not producing espresso-fine grinds, but is great for Aeropress users on the go. This model fits inside Aeropress. Durable, using daily x months and still crisp grind feel. A little wintertime static after grinding is fixed by using brush to remove grounds from cup.

The grinder is nice, and I'll keep it. However, one of the main reasons I purchased this grinder (vs similarly priced competitors) was the numbered dial, because I brew with a variety of methods, from Aeropress to pourover to french press, and I wanted to be able to go directly to the specific number I tuned in for each method. But the numbering is...backwards. Meaning, you start at 0, go around counterclockwise to coarsen and it reads as 9, 8, and so on, back down to zero, which is a full turn, and then it counts down again, and methods require anywhere from 5 clicks to 30. That'd be easy if it counted forward--if french press required 21 clicks, you turn it two full times around and then to the 1. But instead, you have to think 2 full times around and then go to the 9. That's fine if you only use one method--just make it a click or two finer or coarser for taste, but if you're switching between multiple methods, it's needlessly confusing, and avoiding that was the whole purpose of the numbered dial in the first place.

+ Small size and streamlined design. Easy to hold with my small weak hands
+ Round wooden knob. It's comfortable to grab and turns smoothly.
+ Stainless steel burr at this price
+ Aluminum(?) body, including the bottom chamber. I didn't want a glass or plastic chamber
+ The bottom chamber is attached to the top part by screwing, like the lid of a mason jar. I believe this is more secure than gaskets or magnets.
+ The cleaning brush which came with the box is convenient. There's also a canvas pouch, but I haven't had to use it yet.
What I don't like about it:
- The acrylic lid. It should have been metal. I don't see why you need any acrylic part in a hand-grinder. To see if there's any beans left? It's too narrow to see anything actually inside, also you'll know when you're done grinding anyway because it's a hand grinder. With the single-serve size of this model, you won't be storing any beans in there either.
- The huge 1zpresso logo. A bit over the top and can be considered tasteless by many people.
- The numbering dial is counterintuitive and the grind guidelines are too minimal to be of any help. Numbers on the dial should have been printed in the reverse direction.
- The bottom chamber requires three full rotations (3×360 degrees) to fasten it tightly it to the top part. This is especially inconvenient when trying to get the grounds from the receptacle - because it takes so many rotations, you will naturally want to rotate the smaller, lighter part that is the bottom. But its full of ground coffee which will spill all over if you open by rotating that part. So, to preserve coffee and tidyness, you'll have to rotate the heavy top part. A bit irritating to do every day, so I sometimes wish I got a model that uses with gaskets or magnets for fastening, despite my prejudice against those.
Features I'm neutral about:
* The brown coating outside seems to be bakelite with wooden texture. Looks like it is water-resistant, unlike the rest of the grinder.
* The grind capacity is about 3 tablespoons of coffee beans. For the dark roast I measured, this meant only 16 grams of ground coffee, but for light roast this was about 22 grams.
Note: I've only had this grinder for about a month. I'm not a coffee expert and this is my first hand-grinder. The photos shown are after using it, not straight out of the box. Giving 3 stars for now. May update later.

This is great product if you need a compact grinder for a small pot of drip coffee on the road. The build quality feels tight and precise. I don't worry about durability packing. The grinder looks stylish and is knurled to fit well into medium and small hands. Maybe not so great for sleepy large mitts.
For espresso, this grinder is not. The grounds at the most-fine setting are not fine enough by most standards for espresso. The grounds are fairly regular, but they're rice-shaped, so it doesn't efficiently use your coffee beans.
The bean reservoir is a bit too small to brew a full-strength 4-cup pot of drip coffee. Your coffee will be thin, especially since the grinds aren't that fine. So add beans for a second abbreviated round of grinding for medium and stronger flavor.
Grinding is easy - there's a lot of leverage on the crank - and really quiet. Cleaning is also easy -- there's an included camera or make-up brush to sweep up remains.
This is a great grinder for if you travel with beans and have access to a coffee maker at your destination. I wish the bean and grounds reservoirs were a bit bigger, and that it could grind finer to make traditional espresso, though the result is passable and probably better than a lot of coffee-shop espresso.

I wanted an upgrade from my Hario Mini-Mill. It worked ok, but took several minutes to grind for espresso and wasn't that great for that purpose. Thought about buying the larger version of this grinder but liked the size of this one. I only grind 14 grams at a time and I figured I'd at least try this first and if it didn't work send it back and get something larger and more capable. Didn't need to. Dialed it in for a pretty decent shot and made an adjustment for the second. super fluffy and I got a fantastic shot for my entry level machine. Very pleased with the fit and finish and my 14 grams was ground in just 60 seconds. The unit can use an electric screwdriver which I will get the adapter for tomorrow. I had modded the Hario to do that and it was with the motor that it took over two minutes. I look forward to a little less effort tomorrow. Very pleased with this

Excellent product but price is missleading due to tax

The grinder is excellent but two weeks after it arrived I got a FEDEX demand for an extra £28.70 import duty because its shipped from Amaxon AMERICA! Very missleading and I would not have bought it from here had I known as its cheaper elswhere. so the real cost is over a £100 at £112.2 not teh £81.50 + 16.7 importt duty plus 12 FEDEX fee so a total of 112.2 - a bit of a ripoff!
To be fair Amazon did actually refund the full £28.70 import duty after I raised the issue, as it was apparently a mistake! so 4 stars

This is the best hand grinder I’ve ever used. It’s great for all types of grind, plus it is easy to put in a bag and take it with you. Quality materials and quality machining. Not at all expensive for the quality and build. Highly recommend
