Top customer reviews
Note: I've owned the keyboard for one day and made this video review the next day, after I felt I'd gotten familiar enough with it.
I'm trying not to put too many details here if I've already said them in the video, but I'll say this: overall I like it. It's durable, I can type fast on it, it's wireless, and it folds up. Take your keyboard with you! How cool is that? Now when I need to type some emails or messages, this keyboard will come to my rescue. I hate typing on touch screens. It's the one thing I never liked about mobile devices.
There are a couple things that differ this from a regular keyboard that may really bug people who are used to typing 100% properly, which isn't me. I'm a rebel and don't use my pinky like I'm supposed to. I kinda have my own typing style, but anyway:
1: Right shift isn't standard size; it's small and so the up arrow is where I was expecting shift to be. Minor; left shift is normal.
2: The whole number row is moved over one to the right. This will throw off those who don't look at the keyboard while typing. I still tend to look at the number keys while I type so I can adjust. (update 1 month later: I am still getting the numbers wrong... this has been the biggest problem now, I can't seem to get used to it. I type 1 instead of 2 all the time)
P.S. If you're getting the language pop up when you capitalize letters (shift+space actually), it's the Samsung Keyboard I believe, and the way I fixed it required rooting. So I rooted, then used a program to move the .apk file of the Samsung Keyboard to a different folder (rather than deleting it forever). Works perfectly and I can always move it back!
Now watch the video please! :) This is a good little keyboard!
the keyboard is tight compressed but what the heck, beats thumbing and it allows me to get my eye balls 2x further from phone screen, body away from device and tilt it so the brightness isnt beaming direct into my eyes. so far the backspace key not being the big key above enter is trippy - its in upper right corner where i'd expect delete key so that's mildly funky, but overall its good enough to make me reach for my mouse. so fooled me.
i do feel its possible this type of "hands cramped tight together" might feed knots in upper back, but lets keep testing. pretty smart design id say. it has a usb charged battery, folsdsup gadget techie 007, fits in one pocket as if a 6" note phone and it does the job.
i like that is has a delete key fn combo as well as cut/paste and undo. any key wakes the phone. 15 seconds inactivity sleeps. its a neat gizmo. i originally imagined it for a 7-8" tablet. but i returned it because "hands cramped tight together" starts to feel knotty and uncomfortable for me after 15min and because i found a full-size foldup keyboard which isn't going to be much larger when folded. this one is too small for me to use regular.
I guess they also "fixed" the problem, so the ends wouldn't jump now. They send the little rubber "feet", you just need to stick them on.
One thing I couldn't figure out how to switch languages, wish someone would tell me. It switched on the phone and it works great, but as soon as I start typing on 1byone it goes to English. If anyone knows how to switch please, let me know.
Light weight and small. I carry it in my purse or backpack when possible. Keeps a great charge (so far I have only charged once a week). Paring is simple. And the looks I get when I unfold it and start to work is priceless.
