This cable features a 2. 5mm stereo TRS male plug on one end and a 2. 5mm TRS female jack on the other end each with molded connector housings and strain relief boots. The connectors are gold plated to ensure smooth corrosion-free connections.

      I use a wired headset with my cordless phone handset (and frequently with my cell phone), but keep leaning back too far. The phone hits the floor, and the headset gets yanked out of my ear. But now, with this extension cable, that doesn't happen!!!

      If you use a wired headset, and the cord is too short to move around comfortably while on the phone, get this cable.

      Also, I initially received a defective one (looked like the twist tie holding it together had pinched one of the internal wires), but they sent me a replacement so quickly that the second one arrived arrived before the original expected delivery date for the first one. Excellent customer service!!!

      This is the second cable like this that I've purchased. Both were bad. I think they are notoriously unreliable. After reading the reviews of others who have purchased same I feel you are just rolling the dice and hoping for a good one. I just received the iMBAPrice iMBA-PS-12MF 12-Feet Gold Plated 3.5mm Male to 3.5mm Female Extension Stereo Audio Cable as a replacement for this and although the 12' length was 4x longer than I needed I can at least say that it works! Save yourself some headache and just get the iMBAPrice and roll up the extra length you don't need.

      Original review: Using just my headset, I always heard a hum in the background. I figured it was because the phone sat too close to computer. This extension allowed me to move the phone farther away, and the hum disappeared. But here's the best part - even with the phone next to the computer, the hum is gone! The audio quality is great.

      UPDATE: After a few weeks, the hum is back on the phone and now, the static that others have talked about is there as well. You have to make sure the cord is plugged in tight and doesn't jiggle or the static will blow you and the person on the other end away. I did have it at 5 stars, but I've now downgraded it.
