I bought these to make smaller kits of food (like MRE's) however they are so thin, I would not trust them in my pack or out on the trail- these would puncture or tear easily.
These bags are cheap enough, but you get what you pay for. I would recommend 5 or 7 mil bags. Unfortunately I cannot find many 5 mil bags on Amazon in the 1 gallon size however I will be ordering again from USAEmergencySupply dot com which has the best product and also the best prices I have found anywhere in my MANY searches across the net. I love Amazon but it's not always the best option.
Nor was there any odor other than what faint odor mylar does have. I liked these very much and they were shipped quickly and safely. I would recommend these to my family and friends.

Love because even though it's not as heavy a gauge as others, I can use the FoodSealer to close it easily. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Smitty187
High Quality! These bags look and feel great! The size is roomy and true. They seal well with a 12inch heated bar or sealer and appear VERY professional. Read morePublished 5 months ago by ZoeLove
Very satisfied. Held up to my kitchen lights, mine were impermeable to light. Looks like they are sturdy enough considering the price.Published 17 months ago by fishguy
