I bought one when I bought a used car and wanted to have a spare key. Local lock smith cut the key for two bucks. Cheaper by far than the $55 key from the lock smith or one from the dealer. Instructions to program key were simple clear and effective. Lock smith was interested to see if it would work. Would definitely buy again. Another plus is it doesn't identify the car with the key. If used as a spare key, it won't tell a thief which car is yours.

I saved a lot of money buying this product..it was easy to program. The only problem I had was getting someone to cut it for me...most places won't cut it if they didn't sell it to u. (Fyi..cost $10 @ Ace Hardware) :-)

Worked great for may 07 malibu. I had it cut at true value for 50 cents. Walmart messed one up the first time so i had to buy 2 times. Saved some cash. Key appears to be slightly longer. I do have to jiggle the key a little bit. Easy to program.

Great deal for the key and very easy to program. The only issue I have to mension is the key cut - I guess. I don't believe this is the producer's or seller's foult. It must be the way how the key was cut. Every time I try to unlock the door I have to jiggle the key in the lock for some time. It's not a big deal unless I am in the hurry to get into my car. This issue only happens to the door lock. Key turns very smoothly in the ignition.

Had the key cut at my local hardware store for free. Programming was a piece of cake. This is just a backup key for a 2009 Malibu, but I'm fairly confident that this was way cheaper than what you might get at a dealer. Now if only the key FOB could be done this way.

Love these keys, saves me $80 each time, I've made 4 now (paranoid on vacation) and the work perfectly. I take them to Walmart and they cut them for free, then I go to my car and program them in 4 seconds. Done and so easy.

$6.50 for the blank transponder key on Amazon. Local orange apron hardware store cut it for free! Programmed it myself (per owners manual). Works perfectly! Saved about $60 over locksmith/dealer cost.

Bought the key. Took it to the hardware store to have it cut. Walked to my car and programed the key in about 45 seconds. I was amazed that it was that easy. Saved a lot of money. I am going to buy another.
