Summary: When playing with a buddy sitting in the same room as you this game can be loads of fun. While playing through it on your own becomes one of the most frustrating games I have played in a long time due to the lack of your players wanting to hold the ball, gain posession, and the bias AI referees.
For one, the force you to play too many qualifying games in order to get in. For Brazil I had to play 18 qualifying matches, and then of course the 7 to win, which just made it all too long. Additionally, they force you to play Friendly games that have no bearing at all, except if you forfeit the match than your player's rating goes down (the only benefit is that the friendly matches can be used to get your players score back up to First Team level; I forfeited 3 friendly matches cause I wanted to play the actual qualifying matches, and I was forced to sit out the qualifying rounds until a friendly match came along and I could play and get my score up). Additionally, another useless feature is the power option for shooting, which invariably is always way too powerful if you do anything more than a tap of the shoot button.
If trophies are your thing than you'll find that they are usually glitched. I played a Captain campaign and was denied several trophies even though I achieved them. Some said it was because I used a Virtual Pro, so I played a South American Captain campaign and created a player. After playing 18 matches and 7 World Cup matches I achieved South America Qualifier, Most Hat Tricks and the Masterful Performance achievements and was denied all of them. Trophies are great for facilitating your experience through the game, but they don't make a game. This unfortunately still annoys you when you play for so long and then they don't appear, causing you to have to redo the whole campaign if you want to achieve those trophies.
Minor things, but overall the game is a blast and I am a huge fan. I would definitely recommend this game to any interested in a sports videogame.
5 stars.
About the phisics of the game I could say it's pretty realistic, the only thinh I didn't like is that is almost imposible to take the ball and dribble 3 or 4 plyers in a short space, like Messi does in real life, I don't know if it is because I suck at this game (which I don't think so) or because it's just too dificult. Also, talking about Messi, think his real skills are highly underestimated on this game, and as an Argentina fan, I obviously don't like that, he is so slow and weak in this game, Agüero and Tevez are a lot better than him.
One thing I loved about this game is that you can choose the teams to play a friendly match by just going around the globe and selecting from the map, that looks really cool and I thins is the best part on the menus.
Another think I would have liked is the option to modify the players ability, because I like to upgrade some bad teams so playing against them could get harder.
Well that's basically what I have to say about it, I'm not a real fan of online mode so I have just used it a couple times and it's fun too, but you can check some other reviews if you want to know more about that part.
The game is cool, the graphics are fine and having so many national teams is great, but I would like to see things improved a little bit...
