I've been waiting for this since the end of the World Series. The package includes the World Series highlights film plus a number of regular season and post season extras -- including the complete NLCS game 7.

This a great opportunity to remember those nail-biting, record-setting and inspirational NLDS, NLCS & World Series games -- the Giants threw 4 shutouts, won 6 elimination games and ultimately took their last 7 in a row on the way to a 4 game World Series sweep of the Tigers.

The Giants post season had it all: timely hitting, great pitching, awesome defense -- and yes -- good breaks. Reliving the redemption of Barry Zito was moving -- he's gone through such tough times since signing with the Giants. Re-watching Ryan Vogelsong's post season dreams come true was wonderful. Remembering Tim Lincecum's brilliant post season relief appearances was fantastic. Marco Scutaro reaching out and enjoying the rain right before he catches the ball for the final out of NLCS game 7 is the stuff of movie magic.

Then the World Series -- Pablo Sandoval's 3 home runs in game 1, the shutouts in games 2 and 3 and finally the 10th inning of game 4: Scutaro singles and Ryan Theriot slides into home with big fist pumps and the lead. And at last, Miguel Cabrera taking a called 3rd strike to end the game and the series. Wow.

This 2 DVD set brings back all the drama, beauty and majesty of the Giants' championship season. If you have a Giants fan on your holiday gift list, this DVD will be a big hit.

Running time update: The highlights film runs 1:23 and the bonus material runs 22 minutes. NLCS game 7 runs 2:45. Total running time for both discs is 4:30.

If a person doesnt care for a certain sports team, then writing a nasty review is just childish. One should realize that a World Series highlight video is for two kinds of people; the first obviously would be fans of the team that triumphed; the second viewer would be someone who appreciates the historical context and wants that for their archives.

The previous silly review should be ignored.

The film itself is okay with a quick synopsis of the regular season and the bigger moments during the playoffs. Bought this mostly for NLCS Game 7 because it has the commentary from Kruk & Kuip and John Miller. It also has the STL track as well if you are interested.

I was disappointed that game seven of the NLCS had none of the post-game hoopla, not even the presentation of the series MVP award. It would have only taken up a little bit of space on the disk, so why not include that?

Still, it was amazing to hear the local broadcasters do this game, and that makes up for just about anything!

Of course I'm going to enjoy this...being a life long Giants fan. However, I was really happy that they used a lot of the local Giants announcers rather than those crappy FOX announcers. The Blu-ray quality was as good as the broadcast and that was what I was hoping for. Seeing Pence's broken bat hit in super slow mo was awesome in hi-def. Also the shots of the Giants in the pouring rain when they won the NLCS was as good as I remember on TV.

I just started to watch the complete NLCS game 7 when...uggg...had to listen to those idiot FOX announcers again.

I love this disk. It's actually better than the 2010 disk. Better editing, music and narration. I kept going at the beginning, who is that narrating and realized it was Benjamin Bratt. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I'm about 20 minutes into and I'm thinking "geesh, I'm going to be watching this a few times over the next few weeks." Just a great video on numerous levels. I waited all my life to have a Giants World Series video and now I have two (plus the games on DVD as well). If you're a Giants fan, it is actually against the law to not own this. I would have loved to have been at that premiere of this in the theater in the City. The fans had to be cracking up at the end with the Pence impressions. Best. Blueray. Ever.

I was very lucky that I was able to pre-order the Blue Ray version for $12.99 (reg. 35). After a week the price went up to $24.99 then it was out of stock!

Anyways, the high definition copy looks better than the broadcast (I still had some of the games on DVR) and the true gem is being able to select from 3 audio tracks for the full NLCS game 7 (Fox, knbr and Cardinals radio). It was somewhat of a different experience watching with the Cardinals radio crew calling the game.

The feature itself was a pretty good production and is an amazing recap and summary of what was another magical season for the Giants. Chery on the top is the "gag" reel with the end credits.

The best team ALWAYS wins the World Series, that's the point of having a World Series, so the winning team can claim the highest honor in Major League Baseball. I just got done watching the film and I thought it was excellent. It is well worth the few dollars I paid for it. I'm a Giant's fan and I'm a Giant's fan when we win and I'm a Giant's fan when we lose. This Blu-ray is a wonderful film for anyone who loves baseball, you don't have to love us, you can learn a lot from the film whether you're a fan or someone who wants to see exactly how we did it and learn a thing or two about the player's appreciation for their teammates. You'll also find out why Bruce Bochey is the best coach in baseball today. He is nurturing and lifts the team up at every opportunity, yet he never scolds anyone; he realizes that negativity makes the crew depressed about themselves while nurturing, patience, and praise makes for a winning team. I recommend this Blu-ray to anyone who loves baseball or anyone who wants to learn about the game. This is one of the best sports films I've ever seen.
