I enjoy collecting records a lot and a dislike picture vinyls because its harder to store and it just is not for me. When I ordered it I was expecting the album in a normal sleeve. However, I got a picture record and I was bummed out and I was just happy to have the record, but once I played it I realized that it was a singles vinyl and it only have four singles from the album. I was very disappointed however the quality was surprisingly good for it being a picture record.

I bought this vinyl for my brother's birthday since J. Cole is one of my favorite artists and I wanted to share that with him. The vinyl looked alright and he said he liked how it sounds. This morning he was going to download the digital version with the code included, but ran into a problem. The code expired on February of 2016, that was OVER A YEAR AGO! I'm absolutely disgusted that Amazon would 2 day ship me 1/2 of an expired present. I would rate this lower, but I still love J. Cole's album and so does my brother.

This CD is amazing. J. Cole really stepped up and showed the world that you can rap about something of substance and not have to settle for low sales and mediocre radioplay. The album talks about appreciating the intangible things like love, friendship, and family instead money, cars, and clothes. Cole takes us on a journey back to 2014 Forest Hills Drive and lets us in on his struggles & successes there while still touching on relevant issues like the white-washing of hiphop and the myth that fame is a wonderland of good. Cole still stays true to his "Who Dat" days with bangers like "G.O.M.D." All in all I really love this album and I'm glad the first album I've ever actually purchased myself was his. Man, he is a talented artist, so ahead of his time even when he rhyme about the future he be reminiscing. #coleworld

This man is a beast in every regard!
Lyrics? ON POINT!
Music Production? ON POINT!
If you are already familiar with his past works, then you know that he delivers in all categories of an album. There is variety to each song, which are supported by his lyrics and the production. I mean his music is great to me. Obviously music reviews are more subjective than most reviews on amazon, so check his music out before you buy it! I'm not suggesting anyone to illegally download his music, but we live in an era where it is easy to listen to full albums (via Spotify, for example). J. Cole is an artist that is contributing to his genre in a positive way and it shows in this album. Buying albums is so rare these days, but buying his album shows his record label that people like his music even if there is no mainstream hit. Grant J. Cole artistic freedom!!!! OH MY.. I need to stop. I'm about to go off on a tangent. Sorry for the scrambled thoughts review. Cole World!
"An album 10 dollars. You act like its 10 Gs. This food for thought cost the same as two number 3s."
And his album art is nice and simple. Can't hate on that

I LOVE me some J Cole.
some say this dude is too emotional but I don't.
I love how real this kat is. His song Apparently is so nice. Like I can feel his pain as he raps about leaving his mother to get a record deal
Fire Squad is straight fire. He roasting them other kats with this track.
Overall, I like his work because the depth and versatility this man has.
He shows off another side here. We know he can make radio records and make singles.
He presents to the world a real nice album that gets you thinking, DAMN, this dude is real mature to be able to sit back and reflect back on things with honesty the way he does. (He also has a college degree fyi)
GET THIS ALBUM if you like Cole and/or like rap. You are welcome yo.

Amazing album. A lot of people are giving TPAB a ton of hype, but this is my top contendor for Rap Album of the Year. The thems he covers aren't new, but the way he approaches each song is a refreshing sound, unheard of in this dance/rap era we are in today. Cole shines on tracks such as A Tale of 2 Citiez, and Fire Squad, croons (not too shabbily, I might add) on Hello, does both on Love Yourz. This album has gone platinum, and it released with no singles. The promo was very minimal, and Cole invited people to his home to listen to it for the first time. The unofficial motto for this release was F*** Money, Spread Love. Cole is an artist to be taken seriously, as he's found himself once again. Maybe rap isn't about hunger, or depression, or the streets. Maybe it's just about love.

2014 Forest Hills Drive is by far one of my favorite albums I've listened to and I reccomend the music to anyone. So because I loved the album, I decided to order a vinyl version to listen to on my record player. Got here very quickly and everything initially seemed great but when I played it, tracks started skipping to the point where you cannot listen to the vinyl as it repeats a verse over and over again and then skips straight to the chorus. I cleaned my record player and played other vinyls I have and none have the same problem. Very disappointed. Getting a replacement and hoping that it was just my copy that had the problem...

Spent months listening to this album when it it was first released. I got the urge to hear it again but couldn’t find my original copy. Cheap and cheerful here on amazon and if I do find my original copy this one can be given away.

The record works fine and the sleeves are better than average but the actual album seems to just be a bit blurry and just poor honestly, I wish the print was better because it takes away from it.

J. Cole's best album to date.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 8, 2015Verified Purchase
J. Cole's best album yet in my opinion. So much more personal than his previous releases and very cohesive. One of those albums which you can listen to from front to back. A definite highlight of 2014 and a must buy for any J. Cole fan and avid hip-hop listener. There's no weak song on this album and no song feels out of place. Recommended.

Great mix of old school and contemporary influences
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 21, 2015Verified Purchase
Great mix of old school and contemporary influences on the production, and J Cole's lyrics switch between introspective and observational without ever feeling preachy or self-absorbed. He has a cool, calm delivery and flow, but can definitely convey passion when he needs to. This album is a highlight in the world of hip hop, certainly one of the best released in the last few years.
Favourite tracks for me: Apparently, Wet Dreamz, Fire Squad, Tale of 2 Citiez, Love Yourz.
Score: 8/10
