Best of Innovation. Better for the planet.
Tide-turning technology: CES recognized the XPS 13 as a 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Computer Hardware and Components category. Dell was also honored to receive a 2018 CES "Best of Innovation" Award in the category of Eco-design and Sustainable Technologies for our Recycled Ocean Plastics Packaging on the silver XPS 13 laptop.
Introducing Dell Cinema
CinemaColor: Visuals appear as vibrant as the world around you. Best-in-class panel technology, with hardware and software to power content with a superior dynamic range – gives the deepest blacks, most dazzling brights and more vivid detail across the entire color spectrum.
An unparalleled view
Less border, more pixels: Enjoy a screen that seems endless with a 23% thinner InfinityEdge border; just 4mm wide for an 80.7% screen-to-body ratio
Picture perfect: By maximizing the color spectrum with 100% sRGB color and a 1500:1 contrast ratio, every shadow takes shape and even the brightest scenes gain definition
Beautiful at any angle: Anti-reflective screen combined with 400-nit brightness frees you to enjoy your entertainment outdoor. Plus, the IPS panel provides a wider viewing angle
More might, even more slight
World’s smallest 13-inch laptop: Your entertainment can go with you everywhere; starting at 2.67 pounds, the smaller, thinner, lighter XPS 13 is ready for take-off. Perfectly-sized for airplane tray tables, you won’t even notice when the passenger in front of you reclines their seat
Star performer: With new 8th Gen Intel Quad Core processors, more cores means increased performance, even with multiple applications running. Add it all up and you get the most powerful 13-inch laptop in its class

Portability: it definitely checks the box. I believe it weighs just under 3lbs, and the 13.3 in screen makes it feel extremely compact, which is good for traveling. I opted for the 4k model, because I like watching content in higher than 1080p resolution, either via YouTube or other means.
USB C: This was the main reason I chose the xps 9370. I have fully embraced the future of USB C, and everything I own has it. My car charger, wall adapters, charging cables, external hard drives, and even external battery packs are all USB c only. This IMMEDIATELY made the 9370 a win for me.
Keyboard/trackpad: I think the keyboard is really good to type on, with decent key travel and good tactile feedback. I also enjoy the backlighting, though I wish it had more than 3 levels of brightness. The trackpad is also good; I have become spoiled the macbook lineup, due in part to their amazing trackpads being so easy to use and great feeling. However, I had back luck with durability for them and wanted a windows equivalent. While I dont think the 9370 trackpad is equal, I think it gets very close.
Speed: this laptop is a monster. Having 16GB of RAM, and a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) Solid State Drive (SSD), this laptop is anything but a slouch. Booting up from initial shutdown and logging in can take literally 10 seconds and I am very happy.
My only gripe is the battery life. I believe the 4k screen saps battery life quite a bit, so if you want more battery life, I'd say get the 1080p version.
Great. There is a warranty but you have to mail the machine in and so then he's without the machine for two weeks when he needs it for work and to access on line reading. So I don't know what to do at this point but as it stands I've paid for this POS TWICE and it doesn't work right. great. no really DO NOT GET THIS.

UPDATE (December 2019):
STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!! Everything was fine until 3 months past the initial 1-year manufacturer warranty ended - the batter got swollen and bulged the computer frame near the space bar, the lid can not be closed keeping about 8 mm open at the front edge. A brief Internet search showed that this is a widespread issue with this model. Dell refuses to make a recall and fix it for free or for a reduced price. They want $110 upfront, mail the computer to them, during 5 to 7 business days service they would tell you actual repair price. That is an unacceptable "deal" for me. I am looking into purchasing this replacement battery (2 days delivery) and spending 30 min to replace it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQG8M1D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Good computer while worked. Long term - not worth the $2K price tag.
