"Kane's thoughtful yet disciplined approach, as outlined in The 21st Century Singer, encourages the kind of self-reflection and creativity that, at the very least, can lend direction and big-picture perspective to career goals while also rekindling a love of singing."--Classical Singer

I am a performer and a teacher and have already purchased this as a gift for students embarking their journey in "the real world". I cannot recommend this book enough! Thank you, Susan Kane, for taking the time to help others find their path to singing and a career in the 21st century!
Through self-examining questions and exercises, the book is a step-by-step process on how to have a career in music, and made my goals as a singer feel attainable and my path worthy of pursuing. Thank you Dr. Kane!
Honestly, reading this book is like looking in the mirror. It is very eye opening. Kane poses some difficult self-evaluative questions to the reader, which makes her/him confront themselves and the artist within. Although she tells it like it is, she does it in a very caring and nurturing way that inspires and uplifts the reader, providing them with hope, confidence, and the tools (game plan) needed to build the career they desire. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!
