Obviously, this takes us through the 23rd Psalm line by line in a way that feels familiar, but fresh & relevant.
This is most certainly a NOW book, written to a wandering generation in need of shepherding. Eran isn’t “trying” to be relevant, he just is, and proves there’s nothing “old-fashioned” about the Old Testament.
This could easily be a guidebook or a reference tool for anyone teaching out of, or doing a personal study of Ps. 23. Page 176 alone is a great recap of the guide for life found in each verse of this Psalm. Page 179 offers a beautifully powerful prayer of declaration as the book concludes.
You’re going to want to get it & go through it with a friend. There’s a lot to talk through & benefit from.
"Until you decide who you are, you'll probably keep trying to be a cheap imitation of someone else."
In chapter 5 "Check The Compass" which deals heavily with "identity," I couldn't help but be challenged to grow and apply this age-old wisdom found in the 23rd Psalm. In a world that is so lost and in such dire need of an identity, we can find rest, freedom, providence, and protection from God... our Shepherd.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who wants to supplement their daily Bible reading. With the foreword written by Dr. Jeanne Mayo... you know it's going to be good.
