About the Author

Before founding One Day University in 2006, Steven Schragis’s career spanned a variety of roles in education and media. He was the founder/CEO and publisher of the Carol Publishing Group, parent company of Citadel Press, University Books, Birch Lane Press, and Lyle Stuart. His companies published nearly two thousand books including twelve national NY Times bestsellers---two that reached #1 in over a dozen countries. How do you learn to succeed in business? There isn't a single path or route for every individual. Instead there are many different paths and lessons to be learned. Steven Schragis and Rick Frishman have combined forces to write 250 RULES OF BUSINESS.

Each rule is short and powerful. The first paragraph explains the rule. The next section explains "What It Means," then the reader gets an "Action Plan" to apply the rule to their business or career. Finally "Even Better" provides additional action steps for this rule.

For example, Rule Sixty-One: Be A Savvy News Consumer. The Action plan begins, "if you don't read a newspaper, start. If you do, start skimming through those sections that you usually skip...Even Better: Check out news magazines or magazines or news Web sites that you usually don't read. If you want to think outside of the box, sometimes you have to read outside the box. Reading is a wonderful way to expose yourself to new ideas, to develop new interests, and to open the door to new possibilities." (Page 63)

Whether you read 250 RULES OF BUSINESS by yourself or with a friend (for the accountability and discussion), you will find immense value in this pages of this book. I recommend you read a few rules every day then apply them to your business and career. It will set your life on a new course of possibilities. I highly recommend it.
