U.S. Servicemen, servicewomen and civilians alike asked for a foliage green version of the well-known black Ka-Bar - and here it is! it has a clip shaped blade that is flat ground to a 20 degree angle. The blade has a Rockwell hardness of 56-58. Finger guards at the top of the handle protect hands. Kraton handle is grooved and textured for a sure grip. Includes glass filled nylon sheath.

My knife came SHARP. It easily sliced clean through standard printer paper without tearing the paper at all. It also sliced cleanly though several other things I had sitting within arms reach (Amazon's cardboard box, a coke can, and the plastic clam shell packaging that an Uncle Mike's Reflex holster came in). It also worked equally as well at shaving the hair off my left arm as my Gillette Mach3 turbo razor would.
FOLIAGE GREEN? There seems to be several comments talking about how people are disappointed in the color when they first see foliage green. Foliage green is not green. I would describe foliage green as 90% gray and 10% green. You can tell there is green in the color but its mostly gray. The foliage green looks better in person than it does in most pictures. I am including a picture I took of the foliage green Ka-Bar knife sitting on a late 1960s US military pancho liner I have from Vietnam, as well as a 5.11 tactical OD green 2" belt and a Condor Multicam 2 mag pouch. This should give you a very close comparison of the colors when you see them all next to each other.
The knife comes razor sharp. The sharpest knife I ever gotten as it comes from the factory. It's a super lightweight knife for its size and with a beautiful shape. I have the foliage green with Kraton handle and plastic sheath.
You can feel the quality in the construction and materials from the tip of the blade until the handle and the sheath. It just gives you good vibes, great balance, strength, and high quality for what you pay.
The sheath is It is self locking and it lets the knife slide in and out smoothly as there is enough space. When the knife gets locked there is no movement or wobble at all. There is a plastic buckle on the sheath belt loop that I haven't found a practical use for it.
It chops well, slices like a champ and pierce furiously. Whether to use it for combat, survival, bushcrafting, or camping it is an excellent knife!
have not put the sucker to alot of use but I did use the butcap to pound in a tent stake worked like a charm with little damage to the coating or butt, and I think it is safe to say the rest of the knife will do the same knowing it's long history. I do carry this knife when hikeing, and when I get back in the saddle for some mountin bikeing it will comalong, or camping as well. I love the fact that it is big yet at the same tme light , it would be nice if the top of the blade had a little more thickness, it being narrow makes botoning i would think a bit of a challange, as the wood you used as a boton would be chiping away too. with 1095 steel, and dubble guard to keep your hands safe from the blade and all the things I was looking for in a kabar knife, this is a high value keeper and i'm all over this kind of knife.
buy one and enjoy!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the weekend camper, back country hiker, or bedside buddy.
