I am used to emotion in your books that rip my heart out but this, THIS ripped it out, drug it through the dirt, stomped on it for good measure, and finished with a bonfire.
I felt everything in your words. I could smell the dirty air. I could hear the pain. I could taste the despair. I could close my eyes and see it all.. You have made something that is so very special, so rare. You have given your readers perfection!
I just put it down and had to run to write this. There isn't a need for an excess of words because, personally, at this moment, I have none!!! You have blown me away!
The writing is impeccable and the storyline is flawless.
Thank you for all the blood, sweat, and tears, that you put into this book. It has changed me....
You are eternal...
Francis is a thug, a gangster, a murderer, a rapist, the worst of all humanity. Engel is a girl who got lost to the streets, a place where numbers are everything. There is no possible way for these 2 to have any kind of future. They are death and destruction. They are rubble and ruin.
And it's all too real. The story is based on reality and it is proven in the writing. It all feels so real that the pain and suffering seeped into my soul and dragged me down with it.
Does it have a happy ending? How could anyone have a happy ending when they come from this place? Did I want to throw my kindle at the end? No, I didn't. I was left feeling complete and that it ended in the best and most real way possible.
You may read this review and wonder if you want to read 28 Boys, but you do. Trust me. It is so, so good. The writing, the story, the characters. If not only to open your eyes to atrocities happening across the world, but to endear your heart to the message:
"Bad people are still people, sometimes they are just surviving. Love knows no limits and isn't just for the good people. We all pay for our sins in the end, but we all deserve the love of a lifetime."
28 Boys made me sob so hard on several occasions I had to put it down as my tears blurred my vision.
Street gang's, violent crimes, you were a number, and never cross that line.
Francis and Engel story of love is raw to the core, hearts were broken many times.
This love you was unconditional but they paid the price.
This story will stay with me for a very long time.
Ashleigh Gianocarro if I could give you six stars I would.
What a beautiful broken story.
OMG. From the very first word to the last, I was lost in a world that most people won't talk about. A world that's hard to live in and a world where only the strong survive. But what if surviving means putting yourself and those you love in danger? Would you do it?
The story of Frances and Engela will pull you into a place where love should not be possible; doesn't seem like it's even a real thing and will open your eyes to how beautiful things can happen in dire situations.
Did I get all the feels reading this?
Yes. I sure did.
And you will too.
This book is not your typical love story. In fact this book will open your eyes to how so many live in a hopeless situation, where being in a gang is their only hope and sometimes their only family.
I applaud the author for showing us in detail how they live to survive. Society is always so quick to judge others and turn their eyes from the brutal truth. Life is about people trying to survive the best way possible. This story will drain your emotions and hurt your heart. Somehow love has a way to heal all the ugly things in life. If I could rate this book ten stars I would. Yes it is that wonderful. One click and tell your friends about this book. Thank you for one of the best reads for 2017!
