Works great with RME HDSP PCI

Works great with RME HDSP PCI
Bought this instead of the spendier StarTech to use with an RME HDSP PCI / Digiface, and it works slick. You DO need to connect the molex connector for it to work. I solved the offset backplate problem with some standoffs and a long screw, you could just use more standoffs (This was my original plan), I happened to have a long screw threaded the right way so the combo fit just perfectly.ASMedia ASM1083 is the bridge chip.EDIT: MSI Z87 MPOWER is the board, Z87 chipset.

I bought this sorry excuse of an adapter so I could be able to use my old RME sound card on my newly built system. Its poorly made and caused all kinds of issues. Main problem is that it causes my sound to be horribly distorted. But it does make the connection which why Ill at least give it one star. Not the product to buy if your using a sound card. I can only imagine if your using a graphics card.

I needed to add a video capture card to a zoneminder server I have setup but all it has is pcie slots and the video capture card I have is a 32bit pci card. I popped the capture card into the slot on this card, then put them into an available pcie slot in that server. The OS detected the capture card right away, just like it was plugged directly into a pci slot. Flawless!

It worked with PCI cards, but it did not work with my diagnostic card

I tried this card with 2 different pci items {a sound card and an LPT adapter card} both failed with this adapter.
I know the the original pci cards work so it was this "riser" card that failed.

Also be aware that you can't really secure the card you put into this unless you have a really long screw to do so.

Works great with W10 and MSI X.99 Raider MB. Use it for HTOmega Claro soundcard, W10 sees it right away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adapter, um PCI Karten in neueren Boards zu verwenden
Reviewed in Germany on February 3, 2020

1.0 out of 5 stars Funktioniert nicht
Reviewed in Germany on March 27, 2019
