I received it in a short period of time. When I opened it it was what I needed. The tip is a bit off center so if you are using a drill or electric screw driver it is wobbly. But it seems to have a tight fit and as long as I dont use it alot I should have it a while. Im not expecting a whole lot out of a bit I paid so little for.
at FIRST GLANCE i had noticed the poor craftsmanship of this bit. literally, right out of the plastic. put it up to the face and just sighed. thankfully, i purchased a comparason bit and it was much better.
this is a 3.8mm security bit and, as one may find through a google search, has a very specific shape; can't really tolerate much deviation. unfortunately, there is slight deviation with the bit and, as my title depicts, causes the bit to slip during use essentialy stripping everything over time.
since i could imagine these product devations aren't consistent, it probably isn't valuable to note that (in my case) very carefully handling the bit /may/ aid in the prevention of "slippage", but it's ultimately a waste. when dealing with such small proportional deviations, how could one be supple enough to compensate?
I got this a few days ago. I immediately tested it on two Super Nintendo games and one Game Boy Color game. All 3 fit this tool perfectly and opened without any trouble. No wear and tear on the bit, either. If you want to replace a battery on a GBC or SNES game, this works great. It would've saved me a lot of trouble if I had this before replacing the battery in Pokemon Silver. Don't know if the seller matters much, but I got mine from Lukie Games and its in great condition.
I needed to replace a battery in an old Game Boy game pack, this was exactly the tool I needed to get to it. Now my game will probably be able to be played by my grandkids when I have some!
If you have a driver to stick this into, it's perfect. The bit itself is sturdy and reliable, and just what you need to open Game Boy games (And other old Nintendo games)
