We recently ditched cable, switching to over the air tv and roku for streaming. It was annoying having to have both the tv remote and the roku remote to switch between the two. Another thing my husband and I both found annoying with the roku remote is that there is no page up or down. We use Playstion Vue for live streaming tv. In the tv guide we had to scroll through the channels one at a time. With this Phillips remote we can control both our LG tv and our Roku with just one remote and when in the tv guide just hit the fast fwd button to page down and the rewind button to page up. No more having to scroll through one channel at a time.
I was eyeing up other more expensive remotes but figured I'd give this one a chance. For $11 I am very happy!
The remote comes with directions on how to easily pair to your TV and there are codes to enter to program the Roku. It only took me a few minutes to get up and running. The directions say that entering the codes to program the tv are recommended, I went through a handful of codes with no luck, then I noticed, later on in the instructions, how to auto program - worked like a charm. Not sure why auto program isn't listed first...

It was a little confusing at first, but it helps to actually read the ENTIRE manual to find the "Automatic Code" function.

I would recommend to ignore the list of codes and try that first. By following the instructions for the Automatic Code function, the remote will go through 10 generic codes to attempt to connect to your device. If that doesn't work, THEN try the other options listed on the manual.

I like that this came preprogrammed for Roku and it even works if you’re right next to the thing but 7 feet is the max range on this and that’s just not good enough I really don’t understand why these remote control manufacturers make the aftermarket remotes so weak, my OEM Roku remote works clear across the room where this one you have to be 3 to 5 feet away from the TV with the Roku in direct line of sight for it to even register, one day I’ll find a remote that actually works as well as the original.

I have Roku Ultra's on 4 TV's. Each location has a different combination of TV's, sound bars, A/V receivers, etc. used for the Ultra's, so this remote seemed worthy of "unifying" my viewing life to the same remote for each TV. Was able to get TV and sound functionality in all 4 locales, but the overall fail is this thing is just BAD for Roku Ultra use. There are three Roku "codes" available, and none of the 3 includes two essential Roku "buttons" functionality, the circular back button and the asterisk button. These lack of these two buttons (in my opinion) make use of this remote frustrating for a Roku Ultra user, if you've used the Enhanced Voice Remote that comes with your Ultra even just to setup your device you'll immediately notice the missing functionality every time you use this Philips, thus forcing you pull out the OEM remote and and that point defeating the purpose of a Universal remote. Maybe it works fine with other models (I only have Ultra's) and those functions exist via the Philips, but if so there's no "code" to be found that enables them on the Ultra. I'm giving this remote 2 stars for it's overall functionality, but offering it as pre-programmed for Roku sorta in my book implies it provides full Roku button functionality (i get it, it of course doesn't offer voice search or headphone jack like the Enhanced) and it doesn't.

Finally a truly universal remote that works for my devices

This was fairly easy to set up and use. It did involve a bit of experimentation to discover how to use some buttons on it that were different than some of the device remotes. I was able to use it for DirecTV, Visio TV & Sound Bar, Streaming, and a Philips DVD/VHS player together. I'm a happy viewer using only 1 remote 99% of the time for the first time. I originally purchased it to replace the burned out one for my Philips DVD/VHS player, but it has made it possible to combine functions for 5 uses that I was never able to set up before!

Philips 4 Device Remote

This remote is awesome! I coded this remote for my Samsung TV, Samsung Blue Ray DVD Player and Vizio Soundbar. It works like a champ. A few of the buttons don't correspond exactly to the TV functions but once you play with it for a bit, you can find a button that will work and get used to it. Not a big deal. That being said, the volume control allows you raise, lower or mute the sound without having to pick up another remote or hit the AUX button and is the answer to my prayers. It works great with the streaming interfaces like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu. It took me a while to find a back button for these interfaces but the A button does the trick. I bought two other remotes (which I not longer use) to work the entire system and the Philips hits it out of the park compared to the others. Kudos to Philips!

Worked for my Sony(s) and ROKU 3

Up until a few weeks ago, I had been using 1 Sony remote (that came with my sound bar) for my TV, Sound Bar and Blu-Ray and a separate for my ROKU. However, when it came time to upgrade my Sound Bar, the new one was not universal, so I was forced to go back to using separate remotes for each. I needed a universal!

My main concern was with my ROKU since its a "point anywhere" remote, but apparently the ROKU 3 unit can accept either "point anywhere" or IR. This remote does work with all of my Sony stuff as well as the ROKU 3, I just have to point it directly at it now.

The main reason I chose this over the popular GE is that the device selection buttons are more self explanatory (there was no "streaming" button on the other one) and I like that the ROKU buttons are purple so its more intuitive. One downside... NO back button! If you rely on that heavily, you may still need to use your ROKU remote.

Remote quality is on the cheaper side, but what can you expect for the price? Seems to be working great!

Only thing missing is to make so when I press power on or off, it turns on multiple devices at once - you have to select each device and power on separately.

A bit expensive but works well. the description in the image is a bit confusing as it shows five different remotes of different colours but when you purchase.

Also the description does not say if it is one or multiple remotes for the price. So since it is not clearly said and the image shows multiple remotes I was under the impression that I might be getting multiple remotes for the price which would have been a good value but for one single remote it is expensive

The remote itself has a nice design, light and doesn't feel cheap. It stops there.

The codes for your devices sometimes work. I want to emphasize SOMETIMES. I have entered codes in for the TV and for the sound bar. They worked for a short while, as in anywhere between 5 hours and 1 day. Then the remote itself will forget the codes (I tried 2 new sets of batteries). Most of the time the codes won't even work and the other times, the auto-detect function for the codes also doesn't work.

This remote clearly has quality control issues that you cannot fix yourself. Do NOT buy this remote as it will forget your codes or you won't even be able to program the codes in 50% of the time.

Works but with lots of flaws

So i got it working pretty easily with following the setup procedure. My girlfriend has a somewhat rare Sharp-Roku TV.
Some problems...
1. The volume buttons don't do anything.
2. After about 30min of inactivity, the remote becomes unresponsive again. You have to go through the whole setup procedure again.
3. The remote itself is cheaply made, it took us about 30min to enter in our Disney Plus account info. You press one button, three letters come out etc.

It works but not without those issues.
