Challenge

ANSWERS & EXPLANATIONS

Easy: 23, 37. Add 7 to each number: 9 + 7 = 16, 16 + 7 = 23, 23 + 7 = 30, 30 + 7 = 37, 37 + 7 = 44, etc.

Medium: 76, 123. Like the Fibonacci sequence, add the two previous numbers together: 3 + 4 = 7, 4 + 7 = 11, 7 + 11 = 18, 11 + 18 = 29, 18 + 29 = 47, 29 + 47 = 76, 47 + 76 = 123.

Challenge: 10, 30. Two different sequences are merged together. One sequenceadds 5: 5 + 5 = 10, 10 + 5 = 15, 15 + 5 = 20, 20 + 5 = 25, 25 + 5 = 30. The other sequence subtracts 10: 50 - 10 = 40, 40 - 10 = 30, 30 - 10 = 20, 20 - 10 = 10. Merge the sequence 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 with the sequence 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 to get 5, 50, 10, 40, 15, 30, 20, 20, 25, 10, 30.
