I live in New York City and there are plenty of local discount stores such as Century 21, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and many others. I first came across this Jacket at Century 21 for the very low price of $49.99. They still have these in stock as of today 11/18/2014.
I ultimately chose to purchase a brand I was familiar with. I bought the North Face Tonnerro in M for $160 and weighs in at 13 oz (MSRP $200.00) and my wife got me an early x-mas present the Arcteryx Cerium LT Hoody in L on sale for $270.00 and weighs in at 11 oz (MSRP $365).
Now onto this jacket. I decided to purchase this jacket as a Christmas present for my cousin. I found it in Olive Drab for $39.99 at Marshall's. The XL weighs in at 11 oz with the included stuff sack which leads me to believe that a Large would weigh approx 10 oz and the Medium would be 9 oz. That's usually how the weight goes for ultralight down jackets. It was pretty cold November day; todays temps went down to the high 20's and very windy as well. I couldn't help, but test the jacket out. I put it on and walked around on the sidewalk for at least 10 minutes with just a T-shirt underneath. I have to say I was surprised about how warm this is. I tested it against my TNF Tonnerro tonight and it definitely rivals it's warmth. The face fabric of the 32 degrees down Jacket also appears to be more down proof and windproof than the TNF Tonnerro's Pertex Quantum.
For the $80 price point here on Amazon, I strongly recommend purchasing this Jacket. I could only give it 4 stars since it skimps on a few features, and does not have a hood. At the $80.00 price point one can argue that purchasing a Uniqlo UL Down Parka Hoody is abetter choice, but I have no idea how warm those are, since I have never tried one.
At the $40 price I paid. I definitely give this 5 Stars, and make me feel stupid for choosing to buy the TNF Tonnero which is actually heavier, and cost me $120.00 more. I strongly recommend buying this Jacket.
The seller contacted me via amail and asked me to remove my negative comments as this is the first time on Amazon. He claimed that these are replica jackets. I didn't order a replica I ordered a 32 Degrees brand as listed. He promised to remove these jackets from the listing when all of his current "replica" stock is depleted. What? Seriously? Beware.
im 5'11/6'0 190 pounds, off season athletic build (ordered a large)
tried it on, SUPER comfy
-very warm (25 degrees F, T-shirt, light hoodie, and this kept me warm)
-SUPER lightweight. unbelievable
-came in bad condition
-doesn't look too durable
-ran it bit big around snug areas (around wrists)
If it came in better condition, i'd give it a 4, but not perfect because wrists ran a bit big. I returned the product and ordered a Medium instead, will update when i receive it.
This is why I put 2 stars.
1st - Not as warm as I expected.
2nd - Quality of the jacket is as other explained.
I am going to keep it for 40 - 50 degree days. Nothing below this for sure. This is not even close to being good enough for 32 degrees.
This as a light jacket at best that looks good.
