Great to have for your teenaged driver!!

I got this to use for my teenaged daughter who is now driving. I just feel safer knowing this is recording her driving. I can view her driving by pulling out the micro SD card and putting it into my computer. I will not do this forever but plan on auditing her for the first few months to give her some tips. It has a very wide viewing on the recording, so I can see what she is seeing pretty well. Driving is one of the most dangerous things we do and distracted driving due to cell phone usage and texting is really scary. Having this recording if you are in an auto accident can make for the best possible witness. I hope to never need it but it is nice knowing that it is there just in case that my daughter is involved in a vehicle accident. I have attached a video of a segment of one of my drives. My windshield has a lot of bugs on it and I compressed the video. The video is much clearer on a computer screen, phone or TV during playback.

PROS: Turns on automatically and starts recording when you turn the vehicle on, very clear HD reordered video, HD high speed 16GB card included, has built in battery and lasts several days on a charge, cigarette USB charger and cord included, decent wide angle view, suction cups works great & holds camera, camera is very nice looking, and you are able to mute your conversation inside of the car so that it is not recorded. Also Records in 100 MB segments so a single drive is broke up over many segments depending on the length of the drive. This is not a bad thing either as it is easier to give a police officer just the event needed.
CONS: I really do not have any real complaints about this dash cam other than it records like a go-pro so it kind of has that fish bowl look to it. But that's to be expected with these types of cameras and especially since you are capturing a wider recording angle. So this is pretty much the way all dash cams record. I guess the only gripe I have is that the app for you phone is not approved on Google play. I cannot comment on this because as soon as my phone alerted me that the app associated with this recorder was not approved by google play, I cancelled the install. I do not recommend that you ever download non-approved apps to your phone. This app could very well be fine and useful but I wont take the chance.
SUMMARY: I highly recommend this dash cam. I very pleased with it overall. I love that I can just take the SD card out very easily and put it into my phone or computer and look at the recorded video segments. I don't need whatever app comes with this as it is too easy to just take the card out and put it whatever device you want to view it on. I personally think every car should have one of these installed. You never know and I feel safer with it recording my daughter's drives.

Many good features but one BIG missing

This camera has a some good features that makes it worthwhile - but one BIG drawback! Read for further info:
PRO's:
1) Good image quality - both day and night
2) WiFi connection to phone (iOS and Android)
3) Bluetooth remote for snapping on the fly images or videos if needed
4) Parking sensor
5) Emergency recording upon crash/collision detection - either parked or in motion
6) Very reasonable price

Overall there is nothing wrong with this camera. Installation is easy, setup is easy and connection to phone and remote bluetooth button is easy as well.

A couple of minor issues you should expect:

1) if you set the camera sensor to "Sensitive", expect that it will start a 1 minute emergency loop if encountering a significant speed bump as well as every time you open and close the door upon entering the car. This is not a big deal but does compel you to go in and clean up these redundant recordings from time to time.

The WiFi feature is very convenient because it allows you to operate the camera remotely and thus you don't have to take it out of it's mount or sit uncomfortably up against the windshield to operate it. You simply download the app and connect to your phone remotely and you can delete, download and view the recorded clips comfortably from your phone.

The one BIG inconvenience is as follows: It only records loops or clips in intervals of 1 MINUTE! That's it! NO opportunity to expand to 3, 5 or even 10 minutes as some cameras allow. In my situation I determined this to be ok to live with as I have about a 30 minute commute each way and don't really use it for much else. However, if you expect to use this to record scenic drives, this is NOT the camera as a 1 hour drive would result in 60 one minute recordings you would then have to string together. Very inconvenient. So if you drive 1 hour to and from work every day you will have 320 one minute clips in a 5 day work week. Again, Very inconvenient. At least it's sorted by day so you can easily filter days.

The funny thing is, I'm pretty sure they can increase video recording intervals via a firmware update but so far nothing yet.

Another comment is on customer service: The phone app has a "Customer Feedback" feature. I wrote through that TWICE and so far have gotten no response.

Bought this for my husband for Valentine's Day and he's been using it.
It's very user friendly and easy to set up. It records every day, and it will goes in park mode when the engine is turned off. If someone or something comes up to the car, it will record.
Very good purchase, am thinking of buying for myself.
