It had sharp shards of glass in it, beware! Unacceptable. If it crunches on your teeth, beware, this is not small bones as I initially thought. It is small pieces of very sharp, crystal-like pieces of some kind of glass. I couldn't believe it. Look at the photo, what is this stuff? Weirdly, this material easily crushes under pressure, so may be it is not glass but something else. But it is sharp, hard, does not dissolve in water and obviously shouldn't be eaten in any case.

Pros:
Clean and good sized pieces of salmon
no fishy taste or smell
though only a subtle flavor compared to fresh, there is a nice salon flavor for canned
The unique 6 oz size is perfect gives you 34grams of protein compared to the 22grams in the standard size

Cons:
expensive at $5.49 a can compared to a $2 for the somewhat smaller standard sized cans

I'd give it 5 stars if it were $4. I've found a good salmon in the smaller sized can (Bumble Bee) that is nearly as good. While using 2 cans will give me a bit more than I'd like for a single serving, it would only cost me just a bit over $4.

EDIT:
I've upgraded to 5 starts. When ordered I 10, I received a discount bringing the net cost to only $4.66 per can. At the same time, the price of the standard sized can of bumble Bee went up by about 1/3rd. So, now the relative price is quite good. Given the quality, optimal size and now good pricing, this an excellent canned salmon. Hopefully the discount is not a one time deal.
