One thing that I do like about them (all brands) is that when I’m counting calories or watching what I eat, I can have a big bowl of these as a snack and it still isn’t a lot of calories. It seems extravagant, but really it’s just because they’re 93% air and sea salt.*

The flavour of these are OK, it is very mild and mostly salty. I love salt so even though the flavour is somewhat bland, I will still eat these when they are in my house. They have an intense crunch and have an lightly oily feel.
My wife bought these because she saw then name and thought it would be a healthier option then potato chips, but she was fooled by the word veggie, because when you take a closer look at the ingredient, you will see that these are the same as potato chips.
My problem with these “veggie straws” is that I believe they mislead you to think they are healthy. First of all, they are named veggie straws, which makes people think they are different then potato chips, however, the first ingredient is potato flour. It is not until you get to the fourth ingredient that tomato puree is mentioned, which is for flavour, the same way ketchup chips are flavoured with “tomatoes”. Then the fifth ingredient is spinach powder. How do spinach flavoured chips sound to you? Terrible, that is how, this ingredient is used for colour, the same way the last ingredient turmeric is used, for colour, not flavour or health benefits. I think it is safe to say these “straws” are not adding to your vegetable servings for the day.
The oil they use is sunflower oil, which is very high in omega 6. Omega 6 is common in processed foods, fast food and other unhealthy food. Typical American diets are high in omega 6 and low in omega 3, A healthy diet needs to have the proper ratio between the two fats. Eating these veggie straws will contribute to much omega 6 to your diet. They claim that they use 30% less fat then other chip brands, but the kettle brand chips I just reviewed have only 17% more fat per gram and 34 more calories per 56 gram serving. For me the kettle chips taste way better so I would prefer them next time I want chips.

Theyre firm and crunchy and have an almost styrofoam texture to it, but in a good way. Definitely recommend!
