This helpful book is great at tackling one major problem: the fear of the blank page. Personally, next month I'm travelling across the world and wanted ideas on what to write in my journal to make it interesting and not just the usual travel log, so I downloaded this book. It is literally jam-packed with amazing ideas for not only writing a journal, but also for creating stories, a blog, lists, and plot lines. The bottom line is that it delivers inspiration for creative thinking with suggestions like "What would be the name of your autobiography?". I also work as a personal tutor and this book is excellent for creative writing exercises as well as for classroom teachers and students. This book has enough creative spark in it to keep any writer fully engaged with pen in hand for at least a year. Absolutely recommended!
Being aware of all the things above, I thought it was high time that I started keeping a journal, and so I picked this up for some inspiration and - wow! There is a huge wealth of information here, tons and tons of ideas and inspiration for writing a journal. This author is amazingly creative and has come up with a huge variety of ideas for journal musings. For example, the second page of your journal should detail nearly 50 positive aspects of your life that you should let flourish and grow, ie "Over the next 365 days, I give myself permission to love, I give myself permission to grow, I give myself permission to shine and I give myself permission to explore" - to name just a few. This will give you amazing ideas for filling your journal with "memories, self-reflection, creativity and direction" (as it says on the cover). Sums it up perfectly!!
Included are 365 prompts to write about in your journal, one for every day of the year.Read more ›
I'm so very glad I did.
I've struggled to keep a decent journal for years and this book has made it fun and easy.
I suggest it to everyone.
There is a genuine "I am going to help you write" about his
writing style. I was really motivated by the step by step
process to get up in the morning to write. I did it for 7 days and
guess what?, I felt so much better throughout the day it kept
me doing it. I will look forward to his next book.
