Cleaning the toaster ... Oh I can see my 7 yo going for that (not)
Use rechargeable batteries .... Hmmmm
Go whale watching (if you live close to the ocean that it)
I could go on ... While there are a handful of nice ideas, on the whole this was an absolute waste of money. I would recommend a book that focuses more on science experiments for example, things to do that one wouldn't normally do.
I have the "everything kids science experiments book" by Tom Robinson and have and will continue to use it for ideas that are fun, new, and educational ....
1. Contained easy set up / easy clean up
2. Engaged and sometimes even thrilled kids for substantial amounts of time without television
Overall, a great book filled with creative and fun ideas to keep your kids occupied. Love it!
