Great product. One useful trick for large prints.

This is THE best way to adhere photos to foamcore. I have mounted 30x40 prints with excellent results however you have to take your time, have a large clean working surface, and a sharp utility knife. 8x10s are a snap. Have I messed a few up, sure but just print another photo and move on. The alternatives are quite inferior. There is one important trick I learned from the web which helped me considerably. When mounting large photos many times the glue will not transfer cleanly to the back of the photo which is frustrating. If instead you mount the adhesive first to the foamcore it transfers completely every time. You then place your photo on the adhesive and to complete the process. Search the web for the details because this is the best way to mount large prints.

I bought this to mount traditional photographs (film based) printed on fibre and resin coated paper, and have had excellent results with about twenty large prints so far, fibre paper can curl and is never flat but with a weight on top for an hour or so it is a perfect flat bond with no bubbles or wrinkles. Never tried to remove it so can not comment on that, but it is possible to position prints a bit before pressing down.

Easy, Even for a Beginner

The 3M 568 Adhesive proved to be a great tool for me as a beginner mounting photos. I used the adhesive to mount a very glossy 16x24 metallic ink print to foam core board. The photo previously showed a lot of warping in the frame because it had been shipped rolled up, but all the waviness was perfectly flattened once mounted on the foam core board. The photo now looks very smooth in its frame. Cotton gloves allowed me to easily roll up and discard any adhesive off my fingers and, despite touching the surface of the photo, no adhesive got on the printed side.

Overall the transfer process was quick, easy to learn, and very clean. I will be using this adhesive in the future any time I need to mount photos.

I've been using this stuff for years. It works exactly as promoted. You get an initial low tack adhesion that you can lift and reposition. Once you are happy with the position you place a sheet of paper over the art and then burnish it down. At that point the adhesion is permanent.

It comes with a burnishing tool and good instructions.

The stuff has an excellent shelf life--I have some that is several years old and still has good adhesion.

And this is much neater than any spray adhesives I've ever used.

This is a solid five star product.

This product is very similar to the adhesive used when they send your new bank cards.
I use it for prints of my photography, but fair warning, keep your hands clean of the adhesive. It will stick instantly to the printed side. I absolutley love this product, just be aware of it if it gets on your fingers. It is easy to remove from your fingers, but imposible to remove from the printed side. Once I got into the groove of using this, I love it!

I have been using this for years, but it takes some practice to avoid irritations and spoiled work. The adhesive is extremely sticky and wants to pull off onto your fingers at any chance. If so, it will get on the art in a flash, and is very hard to remove. Very careful rubbing can work to save the art, but photos can be damaged.

Make a workstation to hold the roll steady above the table, and a firm replaceable surface for cutting and trimming. Arrange to avoid handling the 568 as much as possible. Have a basket nearby for endless sticky scraps, and tiny balls of goo from fingers.

Keep a very sharp utility knife handy, and a heavy straight edge for guiding it without moving.

I use a 1/4 x 3/4 inch x 18 inch long ground tool steel bar from a machinist's supply, and use gun bluing to keep it looking neat.

I've bought this three times now for binding books, and it's amazing. It can take some getting used to - if you touch the adhesive it will come off onto your fingers - but it's amazingly effective and once you get used to working with it you can fix your mistakes. Save your backing scraps for finger holds and ruler backing and general ways to keep it from sticking where you don't want it to. I tend to place the item, cut out the item from the sheet, burnish the back of the item though the backing to make sure the adhesive sticks where I want it to, carefully peel back the adhesive, then place the item onto where I want it to go and burnish again.
