This applicator is inexpensive solution for variety of jobs. It is reusable squeegee-type applicator. Features flexibility and durability. When hand applying film or premask, this tool is the perfect solution for FRP or other textured surfaces. This applicator is softer than the 3M hand applicator PA1-G Gold. The applicator can be used with a 3M low friction sleeve SA-1. It's softer edge helps conform graphic film over very lighted textured substrates such as FRP. 1 Applicator per order. 3M Number: PA1-B -Applicator For Use With: Film Tape; Premask

If you are planning on putting protective adhesive film on your car then you definitely need to get one of these. This squeegee is crucial to the proper application of the film using the wet method, when you spray the area and the sticky side of the film with the water solution you need this squeegee to push all the moisture from under the film so it adheres without any bubbles.
I applied the film in the door jams of my vehicle as well as the rear fenders, this squeegee worked great for both spots.
I only wish I had bought one of these applicators with the felt guard on one edge as my film looks a bit scratched up after I got done applying it. I have to attribute the scratches to this applicator being used by an unskilled installer (me) and assume the other style would have helped a novice do a bit of a better job.
One tip for applications, I use a little bit of dawn on the static cling side of the protector & rinse it off, then shake off most of the residual water. This really helps to lower the surface energy of the film and to get a great application with less chance for dust to catch. The squeegee is then used to push and smooth out the film.
