From the Manufacturer
3M™ Ratchet Headgear H8A, Head and Face Protection 82782, provides head and face protection in working environments where liquid and chemical splashes may occur. This safety system includes ratchet headgear and a propionate faceshield. To help protect against splashes and smears, choose a shield made from propionate. To help protect against nicks and scratching, choose a shield made from polycarbonate. An adjustable thirteen position ratchet suspension and five position crown strap offers customized settings for individual users. The clear, molded faceshield is chemical and smear resistant, providing unrestricted visibility and slash protection. Note: Protective lab goggles or glasses (sold separately) should be worn at all times under the faceshield.
This face and head protection system meets regulated performance and safety requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2003. The set includes H8A ratchet headgear and W96 propionate faceshield. Safety system measures 9” x 14.25”.
Workers performing tasks in which chemical, biological, or other fluid spray or splashes may occur should wear protection to shield their face and head. Industries in which this is typically true include materials and chemical handling, manufacturing, medical and laboratory, automotive, food and beverage manufacturing. Because the shield does not fully enclose the face, protective eyewear should also be worn to safeguard eyes.

This is by far the most comfortable face shield I've used, to the point I almost forget it's on.
There's almost no distortion at all, it's crystal clear, and while it does fog slightly I find breathing though my nose eliminates it almost entirely.
I can't recommend this enough, A++
Things to note: Polycarbonate is tough stuff, but it isn't immune to scratches. I don't use my shirt, and I definitely don't use a work-gloved hand to wipe it off. Use some cheap automotive micro-fiber towels and a light touch to clean it off and things should go fine.
The shields are replaceable.
To assemble, take note of the retention clips and line up the holes. Use a moderate-firm pressure and it should pop right in.
(If this seems obvious? You might be surprised. I've seen several asking about these topics.)
The headband is adjustable enough and the shield large enough that pretty much everyone should be alright fit-wise. I wear this with bulky safety goggles and sometimes a half-mask respirator without a problem. I'm also able to wear big earmuff-style hearing protection at the same time too.
And unlike my safety glasses, the shield doesn't get as fogged up as easily, which is nice.
Honestly, the only negative about this is two things:
1. The shield has to be installed and it's a PITA to do. I was really afraid of breaking something, but it did finally go in. Not sure why it has to be _that_ difficult, but it's something to pay attention to. Definitely pay attention and make sure you have everything lined up or you can easily break it.
2. Due to the design, it does make wearing over the head ear protection more difficult. For short period use, I generally end up placing the band behind my head and for longer sessions I'll wear in-ear protection. Not sure I'd be willing to pay extra for integrated hearing protection which would work better, but if you're using this a lot it's something to consider. For hobby use like mine, it's fine.
