The adhesive is the same awesome stuff you get from 3m, but the inverted can you can only spray downward. Very bad for doing a ceiling on a boat. And yes it’s my fault for not reading the description fully. Hope the headline helps someone who rushes through the ordering like I did.

I bought one as an urgent need, after I purchased another from HomeDepot just a week before, and I assumed that they should be the same product with just a few dollar's more than HomeDepot on price. But, after I received it I found that the product was date coded as "2002" with different bottle shape and the worst part is that the nozzle design was very much old fashioned without comparing the new, which blows up the glue spotted instead of fine and evenly distributed fan shape spray. I tried to return but the seller rejected. So, I have to use it with "bad result". Fortunately, the adhesion seems OK. So, I would guess the seller recollected the discontinued inventory from the channel and resell them. Please go to HomeDepot/Lowes if you can, don't buy from this seller.

I had some matte black Formica to attach to a ~2' x 4' workbench top and sides that I made. I've never done anything like this before, so I attempted to follow the instructions. I took the bench top parts and cut Formica into my garage and sprayed an even coat of Hi-Strength 90 on all of them; then repeated the process once more. I didn't think it needed a third coat. I figured the time it took me to move the parts from the garage to the bench location would give the adhesive enough time to set up. (~5-6 minutes) I aligned the top with my bench, adhesive side up. Then applied the Formica (obviously adhesive side down). I had about 15-20 seconds to align it before it was difficult to move. Thankfully, it was where it needed to be. I did the side pieces the same way. All good. I used a roller with pressure to make sure it was attached well. I did that a few times for about a half an hour. That top is not going anywhere! I would buy this product again. It sure beats brushing glue on and waiting for it to dry. I think it was done as soon as I put the pieces together. By the way, it does come out like a web - not a spray.

I have a small shop with modest needs for high pressure laminates, I was doing cabinets for a fast food restaurant and bought this to avoid using solvent based with a roller. (I had about 200 square feet of laminate to glue up) The coverage was pretty decent, I was able to do about 30x96" layup with one can. The dry time is amazingly fast (2-5mins). The contact bond is spot-on. Based on cost this is a little pricey, but when you factor in convenience and time it's a real bargain. I have never used a contact cement with such a fast work time and that was a treat. To say I was impressed was an understatement.

Last comment is on the fumes, you need very good ventilation when using this stuff, the fumes are highly volatile. (I don't know that from experience but from the clear directions from 3M) I used a carbon vapor mask due to the volume I used.

Works good but can be tricky to use

Works well. I had one of those cheap outdoor tents for storing like lawn equipment in and one day a limb came down through it and punctured about a 3 inch diameter hole in the tent. I at first tried tape that stated it was use to repair RV awnings and that stated it would last for months and months. That tape didn’t last 2 weeks before it started to come loose.

I was familiar with a similar spray adhesive used to adhere foam to wood and stuff like Formica to countertops. And since 3M is basically the most well known company when it comes to adhesives, I thought I’d give this a try.

I cleaned the surface of the tent and the cut a piece of plastic from a free reusable plastic grocery bag (similar to a regular grocery bag but much thicker and more durable material). Sprayed both the tent and the plastic I cut out from the bag. Then I let them dry until tacky (at this point is starts appearing similar to rubber glue). At this point, I adhered the plastic to the tent.

It’s been a month or two later and it hasn’t come loose or leaked.

About the only thing that sucks is you have to hold the can with the nozzle pointing downwards (upside down compared to how you typically hold an aerosol can). It’s also easy to overspray because it doesn’t look like it’s fully covered well. I’d maybe use something like a foam paint brush or maybe a plastic drywall scraper or rubber scraper or something to spread it evenly after immediately applying if I did it again.

I overs-prayed which caused me to wait longer for it to get tacky. But then to test the tackiness you want to use your finger to test, then the glue comes up in that spot and you have to spray and wait again.

A suggestion for gauging the tackiness....

Spray a small sample and what you want to glue at the same time with the same relative amounts. Then test the sample instead of what you want to adhere. This way you can test the tackiness without messing up what you want to adhere.

The adhesive on these are SUPER strong which is obviously the main benefit. I haven't had any issues since I purchased them. I posted some laminated signs in the outdoor environment two weeks ago and they are still holding up strong. The only down side is the high price, but you get what you pay for. If you are willing to spend a few more bucks for the better product, then I would recommend getting this spray glue.

Sticks to Polypropylene!

Had previously tried to adhere items into a poly (very difficult material to make things stick to) Pelican case using 3M 77 and other glues. The 77 almost worked, but not quite. Tried the 90 next, and learned that this stuff is no joke. Great success. While 77 is probably sufficient for most of the projects you have in mind, this 90 will probably stick to anything you’re in doubt about.
