This is actually mounting foam tape, but it works great as a dimensional tape. It is able to hold up under all of the travel from the creator to Operation Write Home, then on to the service member, and finally to the recipient. It is just the right height for the cards you make for them. I would recommend this for anyone wanting dimension without a lot of bulky height.

Great price for a whole lotta' great tape! I use this for making handmade greeting cards, to "pop" up the images on the front of the card. It's easy to cut in any shape or amount you need. There are other foam adhesives sold for this purpose at craft stores, but they are expensive and usually come in small packages of circles or little squares. This tape is much better for my purposes and will last for a long, long time! I'm very happy with my purchase.

Can't live without, it works so great on all projects. Has the right amount of lift. If you need more height for like shaker cards, you can just use a double amount and it works great. Also, easy to cut into thinner strips for narrower items. 3M makes outstanding products. I have used other double sided tape but was very disappointed in it. Didn't stick as well, or cut or tare easily. Like this much better.

If you do crafts (cards or scrapbooking) and like the dimensional look, then this roll of tape is for you. There are smaller squares of dimensional tape that are available but they can be expensive if you use a lot of the foam tape. It's a nice subtle thickness but can be doubled for a more raised effect and still be mailed without a lot of extra postage. It's also wide enough so that it can be cut in the middle, and in smaller squares, providing even more tape. Cutting is simple, just use a regular pair of scissors. This is also the best price I've seen posted and shipping was very fast.

Has 3M changed the product?

This was a disappointment, not what we expected from our previous experience.

We used 3M 4026 tape many years ago to mount heavy paintings to their frames. We were told that it was used in aircraft and automobile applications. It worked very well back then, and those paintings are still holding well. We ordered this version for some new paintings, expecting the same results. The warning should have been the label statement "holds up to 2 pounds". Needless to say, it didn't hold well at all, and we had to scramble for an alternative. We may have done something wrong, but the tape came off VERY easily once I started pulling on it.

3M now makes VHB tapes, and these might be better for high-strength applications (haven't tried them). I'm not sure what 4026 is for.

Product worked well for me. Unfortunately, I do not have many uses for this tape so I had a lot left over. I used it about a year ago to tape my flat heater under my coffee table to make a Kotatsu and it remains adhered today. Overall, it was a great product. I wish I had more uses for it, but I would recommend it to people needing something that lasts long and does not unstick due to heat. I am very pleased because it would be tragic if the heater fell from under the table while someones legs were there.
