I had heard good things about this bood and really wanted to like it. I found it difficult to follow the organization of the book. It might be better suited to someone who is already an athlete with good nutrition, but wants to fine tune.

You know that vacation photo of you at the pool? Board shorts looking a little snug. Got you thinking about all those tasty microbrews and fourth meals. That's what lead me to The 4-Hour Body.

Great read and reference. I checked it out from the library 3 times before finally just buying it, and I've used it hundreds of times as a reference. It helped me drop 20 lbs of fat, cut my workouts from 6+ hours a week ("doing" P90X) to about 2 hours a week (that's with a 1 hour yoga session) with better results, and helped me run a marathon with just 11 weeks of prep!! Most importantly, it jump started my understanding of how to better take care of myself. Thanks Tim!

Absolutely enjoyable read. Very inspiring with lots of potential action items. Love the Minimal Effective Dose theme. Am testing the slow carb diet, kettle bells, and ab workout among other things. Highly recommend.

I seem to have went backwards with Tim Ferriss.. I started with Tools of Titans, became an avid fan of the podcast, and finally decided to read this book. As with all things Tim Ferriss.. I continually add to my "life tool kit" every time I adventure into anything he is involved in. Last but not least, on to The Four Hour Chef.

I follow Tim Ferriss on Twitter and read his blog, so I'm a fan. I work in health care, and I know Americans need to really examine their diet, and I agree with Tim that modifying your diet is a great step. If more of us would follow his slow carb lifestyle, we'd be a healthier nation.

Some of the other things he shares in the book, I'm not in such agreement with. All of the supplements he recommends won't work for everyone (and for some people, which he does say in the book, can be dangerous). I don't think you need all of that extra supplementation. His diet alone should give you great results (which he also says, the supplements are just to give you an edge).

We also call can't afford the tests he puts himself through to make sure everything is working and tailored to our needs. However, he does give you that warning, and says you can pick and choose what you want to from his book. That's why the four stars. I think the book has a lot of valuable things to say, but also some fluff.

As I said, I am a fan of Ferriss. I think he engages in some hyperbole from time to time. I have a feeling if I researched every anecdote (I only researched a few, but comments on his blog lead to questions about others), I'd find they were all true, but maybe something was left out. That's fine. That's marketing. Just don't take everything here at face value.

One good thing is that you can find almost all of this information on his blog, and he's very open with the comments as far as I can tell. He doesn't delete critical ones, and responds to questions.

As he says, do your own research. Find out what parts you want to use and believe. I think trying to modify your diet and exercise routine at all is worth trying, and if anyone can make you believe you can do it, it's Tim Ferriss. I think he could "sell ice cubes to Eskimos." Reading this book makes you FEEL like you can become superhuman, and motivation is part of the solution.

I've lost 5 pounds this week. Tim talks about Minimum Effective Doses and it really made a lot of sense to me.

This diet really works. I have insulin resistance and have tried many diets over the last year. Nothing worked, not even the insulin resistance diet! As soon as I started the 4 hour body, the pounds just started coming off. Thank you Tim Ferriss!

I've been doing the "fat loss" chapter and it's been working well. The workouts are easy and the diet is easy to follow...and I'm seeing results! My bf is doing the "strength increase" chapter and he's also seeing results. Tim Ferriss makes it easy to understand and to follow, I would definitely recommend!

I've read this book a couple of times and always go back to it whenever I need a body reboot. Highly recommended to improve your self, your life and to learn new skills the 80/20 way.

Thanks loads to Timothy. For the past two month my daughter and I have been loosing weight in the easiest way in my whole life. In this two month I've lost 13 kg in total (10% of my bodyweight). For the first time I feel that I can control how fit I want to be.
Loved the other chapters as well. I've been gradually implementing other Tim's suggestions regarding healthy life-style.
Two thumbs up!
