WARNING READ BEFORE BUYING WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE YOUR WORST SCOPE EVER !!
UPDATE!! New number 1 reason you shouldn't buy a 420 scope for 20$ is because it's a 9$ Carson scope called the micro max with a 420 SCOPE sticker on it what a joke Here's the pictures to prove it I removed the 420 scope sticker and put it on the Carson Micro Brite Plus a real scope.Carson makes all 3 scopes.
I had heard good things and was excited to open the package containing this 15-20$ scope, and Boy was I disappointed I'm not gonna ramble here's why you should pass on this scope

1 FIELD OF VIEW IS NEXT TO NOTHING! ON THE WEAKEST MAGNIFICATION LOOKING AT A NEW PENNY's date 2017 you will only be able to see one number at a time! JUST THE NUMBER "2" FILLS THE ENTIRE SCOPE @ the widest view, and that was enough for me but there's unfortunately more...
2. "REVERSE AXIS VIEW" no kidding to see more to the left you have move the scope or the item to the right same thing with up and down to and with the field of view being near zero your gonna be moving it around a lot, if you unfortunately end up with one.
3. The price 10-20$ I could understand maybe 3$ because the ones for 4.50 with the Chinese script on them are waaaay better, and the 6$ currency examiner is 10x better...I WAS REALY LET DOWN BY THIS SCOPE,

I have read a few of these reviews and to the few who had negative feedback....i fear your 420scope may have been broken because let me tell you:

This is AMAZING! If you follow the directions, and use common sense adjusting your focus with distance from your item, you can achieve a crystal clear, real magnification 60x -100x all of them work perfect. I was stunned. I have seen flowers examined on a mac with microcapture and the image is the same quality only with a little affordable scope.

Dont get me wrong. . . when i first opened the package and saw how small the box was, i thought....no way this is gonna be decent. But within five mins, i was astonished at what i was looking at on my ladies outdoors! If you have half a brain, and five mins you can do what you need with this.

To see developmental colors etc. you must use 80x-100x. You cannot identify colors very well at 60x.

The only negative is if you have a big eye socket this may be hard to look through if you arent on a table or desk. That is the only negative. (i fixed it with an old camcorder eye shield adjusted to fit and block out all darkness to my socket and it works perfectly)

This thing is so small that you can can't even hold it steady enough to focus into any buds on the plants I'm very unhappy with it as far as how small it is it's hard to focus it's hard to zoom it I've had to order a new light because it's this thing is too small to even use for me

Best scope I've ever use, and I've used a lot! I've used at least 20 different kinds including a fancy one with an LCD screen that takes photos and everything. I'll take this scope over any other scope for sure! Must have for looking at ur crystals to see if they are milky yet and to check for bugs. The zoom is great and you can get a crystal clear image!

I suppose it's better than having nothing; but, it is very difficult to use. You need a very steady hand and must place the lens directly an object to see what you may be looking for. A standard jewelers lens would serve the user better. I do NOT recommend this product.

Okay, so I'm writing an honest review. This thing kinda sucks.....the only way to get any clear(ish) pic what so ever, is to cut a sample off and view it on a table. Still, that being said the focus is very very hard to get to crisp the image, and even when you get it the best you can it is very hard to focus on. Your eye constantly strains to try to focus. Also, the site window is tiny. The image is blurry, really no matter what. Using this on anything that isn't stationary, or on a hard surface is out of the question. I was also surprised to see that this is almost the exact same size as a bic lighter. I will be returning, as I dont know if mine has an issue, or if all them are this blurry even at focused. You're much, much better off using a jewelry loupe 30-60x magnification. (with led) for like $5.00 found on amazon.

A fun tool w/ room for improvement

this little thing works, although it has room for improvement. It is a finicky tool - the sample, your eyes, and the focus need to be all in the right place at the right time and then - Wow its pretty amazing, a micro-universe of resin is revealed. I am somewhat patient and dextrous so i get good results using this thing, but I've handed it to friends who are not the most patient or dextrous and they give up after a few minutes of fumbling about trying to get everything to line up. Warning - If you see a spider mite under this thing it might give you nightmares.

Surprising amount of magnification in a tiny package

I bought this for my son, and my husband and I checked it out before wrapping. We were geeking out over this nifty gizmo! It is super tiny, only a little bigger than an adult thumb. It has a very bright light and easy to adjust toggles for magnification and focus, and comes with the batteries. It has a fantastic range and magnification power for its price and size. It feels sturdy and has a protective plastic spacer on the bottom to protect the lens and prevent accidentally getting too close to the subject.

EDITED TO ADD: Well, we've had it a while and I still like its sturdiness but I really do wish it was easier to use. It is very hard to keep something in the range to see it while adjusting the focus, and even the steadiest hand is not sufficient. It might be better to think of this as a strong magnifier than a microscope. For the truly tiny things there it is too jittery to use well. I've adjusted my rating to 3 stars to reflect this.
