The fasteners are the standard cam bolt fastening system paired with some long screws for the feet (plastic covered steel) and two wooden dowel things on the top. I would recommend a friend assisting during the assembly portion, but one can get everything together by their lonesome as long as they don't mind the slight possibility of back injury. Once everything is seated and secured you will be treated to a very, very sturdy desk.
The top of the desk is thick enough not to worry about much of anything taking it out. Everything I have seems to sit level on it and there's no noticeable bowing to it. There isn't any side-to-side movement, and I know the back of the desk is solid enough to drill out a 2 3/8" hole for some extra cable routing goodness without much issue.
Overall, the best desk I've owned, but the damage to the cable trays makes it impossible to give it 5 stars. I lucked out as all of the damage was on those trays, but I could imaging that had the package been kicked and/or slammed in different directions I would be complaining about nicks and dents in the support structure/top of the desk.
Enter the Bush Business Furniture Series A. I was a bit concerned regarding the reviews, and stories of damaged desks, so it was with much trepidation that I ordered this desk, and a keyboard tray. When the desk arrived, I found that it did have a minor scuff mark on the side of the desk facing outwards, which didn't really bother me.
Setup was pretty simple, although the instructions were rather cryptic. The instructions I received consisted of no more than pictures, no text instructions. Having said that, if you can follow a picture book, you can assemble this desk. For tools, you'll need at most a hammer and a flat head screwdriver. The exact dimensions once assembled are 59.57" W X 26.81" D X 29.80" H ( Grabbed this from Bush's website )
My six monitor stand seems to be holding three 24" monitors without issue at the moment, so the desk appears to be pretty sturdy. It will flex a bit if you lean onto the table though, so I wouldn't go too hog wild with it. I would have preferred the side and back pieces be made of metal, especially for the price paid, but other than that, I would definitely recommend this desk. I would also recommend being present at time of delivery-- if there is considerable damage, you can refuse the product and generally get a quick replacement.
Delivery caused minor damage (unfortunately damaged the front/bottom of the desk counter), I did not see any other damage then that.
The table top seems to have these smug's that I cannot clean off with Windex. Maybe something else would work but im not sure what.
