Great quality wall mounted scratching post. It came with just a slight odor that kept the cats away the first day. A little bit of cat nip solved that problem and now all the cats love it. I may have mounted it just a bit too high but it will be easy enough for me to re mount it a few inches lower. The best thing about wall mounted these scratchers is the ability to mount them anywhere you see fit. I have some lower and some higher so even our biggest cat can scratch and be fully stretched out. A bonus for this scratcher is when it starts to get worn out, I can loosen the top and bottom screws and rotate the post or even flip it over to expose a newer side.

Needs better execution

I like to make my own sisal scratchers with a pole, rope and a staple gun but I got kinda lazy and wanted to order one with a small footprint. The idea for this is great, but the quality is meh. If you're paying $29 for rope on a tube and mounting hardware, I really expect it to be executed perfectly. I love that you can mount it on the wall because my cat doesn't use the bottom half of scratchers so it's less wasted scratching area. It doesn't take up floor room so it's less in the way as well. However the sisal rope is a lower quality than you'd buy on a roll and the stapling job allows the rope to slide up and down all over the pole and just looks messy. In the video you see how easily my thumb can move the rope so imagine a 12lb cat scratching on it daily. They just need to secure the rows down more when stapling and add like 2 more feet of sisal and then I'd settle for the cheaper rope quality.

My two kitties LOVE this new scratcher - they went straight to it! And installation is super simple: two screws into a stud and that's it. I love it because it is modern and minimalistic, and I was finally able to get rid of a gigantic scratch post that took up so much floor space and was also a bit of an eyesore. Does anyone have any info about refills for this item? That would make it perfect.
