This has got to be one of the worst mp3 players I've ever owned. The touch screen is terrible and doesn't respond 90% of the time even if you use the stylus that comes with it. Plus it tends to freeze for long periods of time especially after you take it off usb. This thing is basically just a headache. I may just have a defective one but so far it just hasn't been worth buying in any way, shape or form. Eclipse does make some good players. If you're looking for something good at a good price, I suggest going with a different model than this one.

The touch screen was very unresponsive (the "double tap" command should read "poke very sharply 20-25 times")and the device was hard to unlock. After a full day of charging the battery still showed only half power and the on/off button tended to stick. Just keeping the thing from freezing up long enough to download one song proved to be a challenge so I really have no idea what sort of sound quality it offers. I emailed the company as suggested on the package insert but have yet to get a response.
I bought this as a gift for my mother, who just wanted an easy and inexpensive way to store a few songs. Sadly, this player isn't even heavy enough to make a decent paperweight. I replaced it with a similarly priced SanDisk Sansa Clip and so far it's working very well and has proven to be very easy to operate.

Purchased as a 'starter' MP3 player for my 8-year old, so I wasn't expecting much from the device. Downloaded songs just fine. The first day we had it, I was listening to some songs on it and it stopped working in the middle of a song and hasn't turned back on since. Went through all of the troubleshooting basics (charged battery, held down power button, etc), but the device will not turn back on. (I work in IT, so I am pretty comfortable with device troubleshooting.) I am pretty sure I have a defective device. I've tried contacting the company's service center but have not received a response yet.

Here's my review of the device while it actually worked. The screen buttons are immensely tiny and not intuitive at all. The screen locks after only a few seconds, which might be fine for some, but my son wants to skip around in his music library a lot, so this is annoying to him. Even while the device worked, I was starting to wish that I had went ahead and paid more money to get an iPod or similar name brand device.

I would say if you want to take the risk of losing $40 dollars, go ahead and give this one a try, but I would recommend spending a little more and getting a quality device like an iPod.

This is not a very high quality item. You get what you pay for- and for this price imagine that! It functions and plays songs with no problem, however the stilus is extremely cheap. It looks like a piece of radio antenna. It didn't last past the first day with moderate use. Don't expect much and you will not be disappointed.

I am enjoying my eclipse! At first I got it to make videos but I put some MP3s on it and love the heck out of it. I have 100 songs on it and it does everything it should. My touch screen is perfectly responsive. For the price it can't be beat. I wouldn't be able to buy a camera, a video camera or an MP3 player for the price and this one has all three.

It isn't a Fire or a Galaxy but for the price you can't go wrong with this nice touch screen mp3/mp4 player. We use it for videos and it works great. Small enough to take anywhere and clear video for the screen size. You must use the wmv format, but that works well. I'd recommend for anyone wanting portable music or videos.
