Now for my main issues with the Preon 2, which I think heavily detract from the great features of the light. First is the pocket clip, it is total garbage. They didn't use a good spring steel so it quickly loses its grip and needs to be bent back. This can only be done a few times before the clip breaks, and I've already had to replace it once and will need to replace it again soon. The Stylus Pro's clip, on the other hand, keeps a firm grip for a good long time, and the clip only broke after a couple years of service. Furthermore, the Preon 2's clip doesn't hold well even when new - the light is constantly slipping out of my pocket when seated. I'm actually on my second Preon 2 as I lost my first this way. This may also have a bit to do with the slick finish of the light. I don't think I've ever had an issue with Stylus Pro escaping from my pocket.
Next it the tail cap. There is no protection around the button and the button doesn't need to be pressed into a recess to activate. This causes the light to constantly turn on by accident when it's in my pocket, leaving me to walk around with a light shining from my rear while killing the batteries.Read more ›
Value wise,it is more on the expensive side, since there are other options (even from the same manufacturer) that offer better "bang for the buck" but it is very reliable, sturdy and functional. I also own the Mini AA which is also great but falls a bit short in light intensity and the twisty switch makes it difficult to get to the desired mode with only one hand.
I would not recommend Preon 2 for outdoor flashlight use since a better throw is needed but for every other application it is a very solid choice (if you are willing to invest $67 in it.) I took out 1 star for value and Throw/beam focus.

The only downfall to the preon 2 is that I often inadvertently turn it on in my Pocket. This lead to the light not working one time when I needed it. Read morePublished on April 5, 2013 by Michael Amoruso
Bought this light in Aug 2012 very nice. Light but daily use and the bulb now only puts out a tiny amount of light. LED supposed to last for thousands of hours. Read morePublished on January 24, 2013 by Jerry Liles
