This "essential oil" might possibly contain some "tea tree oil", but it's not 100% tea tree oil, nor even close to 100% concentration. More like 5%, if anything.
Real Tea Tree Oil is a thin, highly-volatile liquid with a sharp, pungent, turpentine-like odor and a solvent-like feel. It is a pretty serious skin irritant, and burns painfully when applied directly to sensitive or irritated skin, almost like a low-grade chemical peel.
This stuff is a thick, viscous fluid, about the consistency of mineral oil, with a faint piney aroma. This is NOT tea tree oil!
When I opened up the bottle, the scent seemed really strong. So far, so good. But then I used it on an aromatherapy sniffer (a little pad on which I put a few drops of the oil) and...nothing. I wound up using at least FIVE times what I used of the more expensive stuff to get a decent scent. That scent then dissipated within literally five minutes - I walked away to take a quick phone call, came back, and the scent was almost gone. To put that in perspective, the more expensive eucalyptus oil takes four to five drops to saturate the pad and lasts for at least a few hours.
So this oil is VERY diluted, and not worth the money, frankly. I'll never purchase this brand again.
Extremely disappointed with this product. I used this in some foot scrub I made. It’s caused extreme irritation to everyone’s skin. Some have broken out. Some have sores. Some had inflamed and irritated skin. Thank goodness this was given only friends and family.
It caused corrosion in containers. In my airtight container it corrosion on metal and cracks/shattered anything plastic it touched.
This is NOT normal! I work heavily with essential oils and never had this happen. I would NOT recommend using topically, topically and NEVER diffuse as I have NO idea what chemicals are in this.
12/29/18 - Seller was great to work with. Quick and very knowledgable. Reasonable and fair. She made things right by refunding purchase. Along with offering a replacement. She explained how this might of happened if not stored correctly.
