The soles are worn at the ball of foot, two plastic eyelets where the laces are first started have broke but the leather held up, the sole has separated on left boot. The stitching on the left has started to go.
The zipper is what I like the most on these boots, it allows me to strap on and get going. Once in awhile I will re-tie my boots due to looseness or different thickening socks. It has not given me any problems. It was one of my concerns at the time of purchase that it may break off at some point or get caught or separate from the boot material but that has not been the case.
Wearing these boots almost everyday, I don't mind standing for long hours in these boots they are comfortable to the point I don't even think about it. You might need to replace the insoles at some point but they will give your feet and lower back proper support, something I need in the industry that I work in.
Now that my boots are falling apart and presenting a safety issue, I need to order some new ones. thanks again A.T.A.C
The only thing A.T.A.C needs to improve on these boots is the eyelets, I broke them a few weeks after purchase.
Odd on these ones, is that they fit slightly snugger than the ones i already have. The old ones were not this snug from what i remember and they are the same size as the ones i just.
Overall, the snug fit isn't bad, just slightly snugger than i remember. i've given it a few weeks now and they haven't loosed up much yet. i'm not complaining per say, but noting. its not snug enough for me to need to replace with a 1/2 size larger, but enough to notice.
overall, for a quick zip on/zip off boot, these seem good. the zipper seems solid and has never given me problems, either on the old pair or the new pair.
guess the fact that i repalced my old boots with another pair of the same, should be a good thing for these boots.
Made China, but the construction and craftsmanship looks to be good for the $89 I paid on sale, but only time will tell how they hold up.
The laces seem to be somewhat elastic, which allows for more flexure when squatting, etc., but may be less durable than standard laces.
Has metal YKK zippers with a leather flap behind to provide water resistance, but definitely not waterproof above the zipper line. A velcro flap at the top of the zipper should keep it in place while in use.
Nicely lined with with interior padding of the uppers and no noticeable pressure points, but the toe box could be a bit larger and not sure how it will wear over time.
They are fairly light weight, which is a plus for me. This is to be expected with the leather/fabric combo.
Pretty good support for a lightweight boot
The size is about right for me with the original inserts, which provide no real arch support and only moderate cushioning, but are ventilated, on top of full length orthotics.
With that configuration, I made it through a day of moderate activity with only a little foot fatigue towards the end the day. I have really bad feet, so that's pretty good for brand new boots.
The secret pocket is about the size of the coin pocket on a pair of jeans. It seems more of a gimmick than anything else. I'm not sure what it will be useful for since anything in it will rub against your leg and wear out the lining behind it.
