This bag would be perfect for a single-stack pistol like an SW M&P Shield with a 3' to 3 1/2' barrel, or a Walther CCP...
a pistol like a Walther P99 it fits pretty well. Because of the placement inside the bag, the elastic straps intended to hold the gun in place end up having to go over the barrel and trigger guard. Amazingly, the elastic does fit over the barrel and trigger guard after some intense effort - see photo. After some use the elastic stretches, making it easier to 'holster to pistol. The construction is very good, with great stitching, zippers and zipper pulls. The two inch web belt has a buckle that engages very positively compared to the typical fanny pack hardware. Once sized, some may find it useful to 'lock' one side of the belt with something like heavy-duty upholstery thread leaving only one side adjustable.
Overall a good-looking, well made alternative to a conventional belt-mounted holster.
The quick open pouch is excellent. You pull a tab and the zippers unzip and the pouch flies open making it easy to retrieve your firearm. Opening the pouch and retrieving your firearm can be done with one hand and is pretty fast as well. It's ambidextrous so us lefties can use this bag as well.
It can be worn on the waist and fits very large bellies as well. It does adjust down, but I'm sure at smaller waist sizes you'll find a lot of extra strap. But you can cut the strap and singe the edges so that's not really a problem. You can also wear it like a sling bag (over the head and one arm). This lets the bag rest like a shoulder carry bag. This isn't as comfortable, but works extremely well if you are just walking the dog, checking the mail, etc. The point is, it is versatile. Left, right, hip, sling.
The bag itself looks nice. It is designed to look like a regular tourist fanny pouch. That's why it has the two color design and that is why it has two side pockets. The two side pockets do work, but they are too small to hold much of anything. That's because they are DECOY pockets. Your gun barrel hides behind them and because it looks like a pocket is there, you don't look like you're packing heat. Want to put something in there? Maybe a whistle, a spare key, some folded cash, that will work. I'm not even sure a drivers license is small enough to fit in there though. This is not meant to be functional as a fanny pack. It's meant to conceal a gun. It does that very well.
The gun fits nicely. No problem. If you want to add a couple clips, you can. But for some guns and double-stack clips, it may make the pack bulge a little more than you want. Also the clips will probably rub against the gun and that might be unacceptable to you. If so, maybe stick a small cloth inside. My impression was that the clips could fall out during an action situation, but I have not really put the pack to the test in that regard.
The only downfall to the bag as I see it is that the adjustable belt will occasionally slip a little. That means you have to tighten it sometimes. I'm looking for a solution to this as I don't want to have to keep adjusting my belt.
One other little modification I would like to sort out is how to put a firmer trigger guard in it. I'm sure it's perfectly safe, but my carry gun has a light trigger and i want to be as safe as possible. I may try to cut a plastic sheet from one of those cheap flexible plastic cutting boards. Just as an extra safeguard.
I do also carry Glock 26 that's fits too
I recommend this carry bag. Well made
