A.C. Kerman - LE is a great seller. Product arrived on time as promised. I purchased this bag for an expat assignment to Pakistan. I flew Etihad from Chicago to Abu Dhabi to Islamabad. On the very first trip, one of the riveted tie down feet was ripped off the bag by the baggage handlers at Etihad. I contacted 5.11 via website email, their media relations department said they would send me a replacement part. I haven't seen it yet...it has been 3 months. This bag really does Carry All My S***. The CAMS unit is big...it will be flagged as oversized by the airline and you will have to pay extra to travel with it, so keep this in mind. The CAMS unit is also too large for the economy class 25 kg weight limit so plan on stuffing this with your largest and bulkiest items to 32kg and pay extra.
I loaded the CAMS with my construction gear, PPE, hard hat, safety boots, shoes, hi viz jacket, vest, lights, batteries, water purifier, Donjoy knee brace, clothes, medicine, snacks and other miscellaneous items. If you load this bag to the 32kg or 70 lbs weight limit, bear in mind that you will have to be able to carry half the weight -16kg or 35 lbs in one hand (there's only two wheels)...which doesn't seem like much, until you try going from terminal to terminal with it. I also have the SOMS, and the ability to tether these units together (with a strap from the CAMS to the handle of the SOMS) to move "caravan" style is great...until you are checking in for your flight in the serpentine lines. The "caravan" style of movement is awful for tight turns; my SOMS turned into a R2D2 droid unit...falling over at each turn and pulling the CAMS down with it.
Overall, the bag is well built, with lots of pockets and organization options. The internal molle system is convenient for organization. The two fiberglass rods that you have to install, maintain the shape and structure of the bag. I don't put any locks on my zippers...it's a visual cue that invites the TSA handlers to open an inspect the bag. I use a very thin plastic coated stainless steel cable that I weave through my important gear and lock internally to the molle straps. I managed to stuff a 32kg CAMS and a 32kg SOMS into the back of a Toyota Corolla in Islamabad, took up all the trunk space.
