Those side pockets. Talk about tiny...

When you can't even fit your drivers license (or similar sized CCW license) in one of them... I mean I can't even get my keys in there and I don't have many on the key chain... come on! Going to have to get a copy made and keep a single key in it I guess. I really can't think of anything else these pockets would be good for and looking at the overall design you can tell they could have been made a little bit bigger (even if just for ID/CHL).

Otherwise, great build quality. Great deceptively small size. Looks sporty and not overly tacticool. Their quick deployment tab design is superior to the others I've seen. Love how "difficult" it is to undo the belt clip (it's beefy and looks like it will stand up to the test of time, will not come undone on it's own either). Very easy to adjust to waist size.

If not for those silly side pockets, this would be an easy 5 stars (although maybe an additional front zipped pocket would be nice, looks just tall/wide enough for a phone).

Update/Edit: I was able to figure out a way to get my ID into one of the side pockets. It's hard to explain, but my advice would be to feel around inside with your finger once open to get an idea of the actual space available, as there is more above and to the side of the zipper itself. It might not be intuitive at first, but at least it does fit after all.

Very well made item that works perfectly for my use AFTER a couple of modifications: First, the waistband straps were way too long for me - had to cut about 10" off both sides. Second, and more important, the center elastic bands did not easily fit around my Ruger SP101, i.e. the bands are too short, with not enough room for the cylinder and trigger guard of the revolver. (Consequently, the weapon was not secured properly and could actually fall to the ground when the pouch was unzipped). The 'fix' was to remove one end of the band, and extend it (with the band from the other side), and re-secure it with enough length to accommodate my Ruger. (Currently pinned in place in case the elastic stretches out a bit). It is now a very satisfactory CCW option.

This pouch is great. Very small footprint so if you wanted you could pull a hoodie over it. The little pockets on each side don't really hold much of anything so don't expect to use them unless you want to shove a speed loader in there. The quick pull tab works well, so drawing is fast. I don't like the angle you have to draw from though but it's still quick draw. The panel that hangs open holds magazines well. The pack itself fits comfortably.

My only issue is that there was no product description on Amazon or on 5.11's site that indicated this would not hold my snub nose. It holds my 3.5" 9mm and my little .380 fine. So because of that I had to buy another one from HawkesPak which does hold my snub nose (I prefer my revolver depending on what I'm doing). The HawkesPak is completely adjustable, everything is high grade velcro inside so that you can adjust exactly where the gun is, how tight the thumb break is, angle, etc. I still like the 5.11 more though just because it has a smaller footprint, The HawkesPak is fatter. Both packs conceal well because they don't make it obvious that the two side compartments actually hold the barrel, both make it appear as if they are separate compartments from the main.

It's ok as far as a concealed weapon fanny pack goes. I have a Ruger LCR .38 and it fits well enough but I can't use the elastic bands to hold it in place, see my pictures. There is one feature that's kind of cool, but I never use it, and that's the quick access mode. It has zippers that I normally use but it also has Velcro straps that hold the flap closed, rather than the zipper, so that you can rip the cover away quickly in the event you need fast access. Also, this fits against your body exactly as you would expect a fanny pack to feel against your body, so if that's ok with you and that's how you want to carry your weapon then you will likely be happy with this pouch. As for me, I'm not all that happy with it, but it does do what it said it would do, it's just that I now know that what it does is not what I actually want. Also, as mentioned the little side pockets could only be expected to hold some extra ammunition because they absolutely are not big enough to hold anything else, not even a credit card.

This is the best compact CCW pouch I have found. The materials are sturdy, the zippers heavy duty and the waistbelt is nice and wide. It adjusts to fit easily. It easily holds my 3" SP101. The rip tabs are fantastic. Grab the right tab with my left hand, yank hard and the gun is exposed for easy draw with the right. It appears to be completely ambidextrous.

Cons. There's room for little else. There's only one large compartment. It won't hold a wallet or a cell phone. The two little ;pockets on each side are too small for even a driver's license or CC. Even keys with a fob would be a tight fit. This can be solved by adding pouches to the waist band but that's not ideal. I don't want to advertise the fact that I don't have room for these items in the fanny pack because it's filled up with gun. For internal retention, there's only two elastic straps. Might be enough for a semi but they arent suitable for a revolver so my gun has to sit in there loose. It definitely needs a more versatile retention system. Even a couple of strips of velcro would be a big improvement.
