As an old sailor myself I enjoy reading the old classic sea stories. Some of the old standbys are included in this collection as well as many more relatively unknown sea stories. It is literally a library in itself. I've spent hour after hour reading one book after another and have found only a few that I found no interest in or just didn't like. I've never regretted its purchase

This is an amazing collection of 50 complete novels including Moby Dick and Billy Budd by Herman Melville. Most stories are from the Age of Sail and are about Pirates, Ghost-Ships, Buried Treasure, coming of age, clipper Ships, Hell-Ships, merchant ships and warships. Authors include Melville, Jules Verne, Jack London, Jeffrey Farnol, Charles Dickens, and many others. To find and read these books singly would take hours of research and much expenditure. Here they are gathered in one wonderfully-priced Kindle edition. Whether you are an armchair sailor or make your living on the sea this book is a wonderful companion for months of excellent reading!

This is one long book, some of the stories are not to my likening, and others were reread several times. As a whole I loved it,
though all of the stories are fiction, there is enough historical accuracy to give the stories gravity. Looking at the portrayed past gives a fundamental understanding of the present, and how we came to be. The writing style of some of the authors is awesome, the flow and style of the language. Bye and large a fun read.

This is a wonderful freebie. Many hours of entertaining reading that could cost hundreds of dollars if paid for as individual texts. Some texts might even be very hard to find elsewhere. Because it is 50 novels and stories in one book, there is no easy way to know what progress you have made in individual novels or stories, or even what story or author you are currently reading if you don't remember. All 50 are treated as one big book when it comes to showing percentage complete, etc.
Funny that this book describes so much navigation but the book itself is difficult to navigate.

This is a collection of 50 books (not 50 chapters). I have only finished one of the books and it was a good read of sailing ship days. Anyone who picks it up can figure on a long time to read all the books. There are multiple authors. I am only part way through a 2nd book. Again, so far so good. Enjoy.

I haven't finished all the stories but I haven't stopped reading any that I have started and enjoyed them all - some more than others but it is just the reading that I enjoy and had hoped for when I ordered the book.

Downloaded this for my husband who is in an assisted living facility. This was of great comfort to him when all the activities were over and he was free to read.

Most of the stories are of high quality. Unlike some other reviewers all the stories were new to me. An exceptional value for the pirate in ya.
