Review Specs:
-Fire Emblem Edition 3DS
-Brightness: 3
-Power Saver: On
Wireless: Wireless on, Streetpass on
3D for Games: Usually Off (95% of the gameplay time)

The following stats are not individual indicators of the battery life. Please read the review for details.
Approximate Total Play Time: 21-27 Hours
Approximate Total Sleep Time: 141-164 Hours

Notes: I chose these particular settings because I wanted to see the lifespan of the battery in its "normal" condition. I was curious about its life during the regular/casual use as opposed to test settings because I'm more likely to play using the settings I posted rather than the settings I would test with. It would give a better example of what to expect.

The Review:
Upon reading the other Amazon reviews, I too was a bit hesitant about buying this battery. The technical specs seem fine theoretically but it seemed odd for such an unheard of company to produce such great sweeping ratings. I'm not saying that 3rd party companies don't, it's just something to be wary of.

As I write this review, I will say that I started a full charge last week and began testing the battery approximately by the night of Thursday, June 27th. According to my Activity Log, I average around 3 ½ hours to 4 ½ hours of gameplay a day (I only play during my commute to and from work) and this 3DS has not touched the charger since (despite my desperate urge to from my habits). It has always entered sleep mode when not in use, and Streetpass/Spotpass was always on. The best way to explain my current level of satisfaction with this battery can only be: "Wow..."

The reference battery that's on 3DSes at the moment is rated at 1300 mAh. It's neither a fantastic rating, nor a poor one either.

I received mine yesterday and charged it before use and I went about my normal daily routine, turned on the 3ds (wifi on)and left for college, I played Super Mario 3D Land for about two hours during my lunch break 3D and wifi on and sound full blast. I packed up, went to my next class (3ds still on in sleep mode wifi on) after class got on the train and played another 2 hours or so. With the default 3Ds battery my 3ds would be on low power and blinking red, if not already dead. With this battery I was able to play another 2 hours and I still have battery life to spare. In my opinion that kind of value already far surpasses $23.99. This battery is far more worth the money than any of Nyko's overpriced batteries.

As of the time I'm typing this review, My 3Ds has already been on for more than 15 hours. Doesn't really get any better than that.

Forgot to add that it really feels better, more comfortable during game-play with the extra bit of bulk it adds.

So I got this thing last tuesday and immediately popped it into my 3ds. It came with the screws and case to put it all togeather. Install is a piece of cake... if you have an eyeglass screwdriver. Those screws are a bit tiny. That is the only difficult aspect of install.

The case add on to house the battery is initially unwielding. Makes the system a smidge more heavy adds about 3/4 of an inch of girth to the system. Read a previous review and was worried it would be tight when put in my pants. As I do not wear hipster jeans it fit no more tightly than the original system. So I charged it up for the night. Wednesday morning I unplugged it. Proceeded to carry it to work, went about my day with it. Average use, streetpass and a few games here and there for 10 or 20 minutes at a time. Got home and normally the system would be anywhere between 2 bars and the flashing red lights of doom. However when I brought it home after installing this battery. it still read as it was fully charged. I was curious, how far could it go? so I set about testing it.

Thursday - No reduction in battery after that day, average use.

Friday- same result, battery read full all day, average use.

Saturday - battery went down to 3/4 bars got consistent use throughout the day. Switched screen brightness from 3 to 5(something I haven't done for 2 years). Time to really test it. Power saver still on.

Sunday - still 3 bars back to average use. Kept it on me all day, was officially used to the shape difference of the system. Day ended with 2 bars.

Monday - still 2 bars, slightly more use, borderline, for adult with game system.

Tuesday - Finally at one bar in the morning. went most the day with average use. Around 5pm it started doing the red flash of doom.

The Cameron Sino 5000 mAh battery for the 3DS is by far one of the best batteries for the Nintendo 3DS.

I tested the battery life by playing Kid Icarus: Uprising with the maximum brightness settings, power-saving off, wi-fi on and the 3D settings turned off (briefly the 3D effect is turned on). For 10 straight hours, the battery life is at half level. Thus, I expected the battery to last at least 10 hours.

When I migrated from the Nyko Powerpak+ to this, the Cameron Sino battery DOES last longer than the Nyko battery. It is also a lot thicker as well (thicker than the original Nintendo DS), but it still fits in my pocket. The installation is simple enough (you need a very small screwdriver because they DON'T provide you one). It also makes it more comfortable to hold since I have big hands.

Since the battery has high capacity (5000 mAh), it takes at least half a day to fully charge the battery.

The price for this battery (I paid $18) is basically 1/5 the price of the Mugen 5800 mAh 3DS battery ($100). Since it was cheap, the battery can be cheaply replaced.

Since my color is "Cosmo Black", the battery cover blends well with my 3DS.
Pros:
- Very long battery life (at least 10 hours of gameplay)
- Very cheap compared to Mugen battery for 3DS
- Makes 3DS to feel comfortable

Cons:
- Makes 3DS bulkier than the Nyko Powerpak+
- Makes 3DS heavy
- Screwdriver not included

Overall, I highly recommended buying this battery over anything else for the price and 4x the battery life.
