1.0 out of 5 stars Save Your Money!
By Steve P. on June 11, 2016
With (Ham Radio) Field Day approaching, I ordered two different brands of 50ft, RG8x Coax assemblies. One, (Chinese) I expect to be trashed during Field Day in a high traffic area, and this one that I was glad to pay $10 extra for quality USA Made, Times Microwave, made by MPD, for semi permanent use at my home station.

When my cables arrived I was shocked that they were identical assemblies, down to the way the wire ties were twisted around the coils. The only difference was one was sealed in a bag with a sticker giving the ASIN number (B00D66RDYQ – same as in the Amazon description), and one was loose, with no packaging, except for to a paper sticker saying it was made in China. The bagged, supposed USA made cable had no origin of manufacture marking.

Both cables are highly rated, and look and work as they should, but they obviously were made on the same assembly line. There is not .10 cents , much less a $10 worth of difference in these two cables. Save your money. If you want / need high quality, better than Radio Shack coax, I recommend looking elsewhere. I’m giving one star as I don’t believe you are getting what you pay for.

Here’s a link to the other Chinese cable. If you look, you’ll see they both even look alike in their product photographs.

1.0 out of 5 stars PL259 connectors NOT properly installed resulting in total failure.
By R. Edwards on April 30, 2021
Had problems with intermittent loss of grounding at the antenna. After discecting the connector at one end of the cable, I found that the connector was improperly installed with the cable shield wires poorly soldered to the reducing sleeve which wasn't fully screwed into the connector barrel. See the attached photos.

Based on this, dont buy cables from this maker.
