"Especially effective in the clarity of presenting 5S. Previously, I didn't really understand the need for all aspects of 5S, nor did I have the most positive attitude toward it. This book made the need clear to me in a way that connected."
"This book should be read and studied by all shopfloor managers, supervisors, leaders, and associates looking for a direction to success."
"I recommend this book to every supervisor who wants a commonsense, inexpensive method for improving quality, productivity, safety, and morale within their department."

Effective implementation of this tool requires very high participation from senior management to make important decisions. I think workers will not be in a position to implement this tool, and so this book is not very useful.
I think that employees tasked with implementation of 5S would find the information in this book to be useful - especially if their work setting is a product company that produces a finite number of different products. Job shops would find the information here a little thin. That will be my next search - to find a 5S book that specializes in 5S for job shop environments, where no standard product exists.
The best way to learn 5S, or teach your operators, is by seeing it in practice and hearing from those on the shop floor who reap the benefits. This book does the exact opposite by reading like some awful wordy generalized employee handbook, written by a systems engineer who is trying to communicate to a technician.
