The popular rocking fountain is now available in a size small enough to sit on the edge of a bowl. It's great for areas of your garden with limited display space, you will love its versatility.
The rocking fountain, or "shishiodoshi" was originally designed to scare away deer and wild boar. The spout fills with water and rocks forward to empty, then rocks back to make a gentle clacking sound. This combination of movement along with the sound of water and the clacking bamboo make it a captivating water feature. Our rocking fountains are popular in restaurants, botanical gardens, homes, shopping centers, and fine gardens throughout the world.
The rocking fountain is easy to install because it's designed as a single unit, mounted to a realistic, rock-like base. Simply place the fountain next to a pond or a shallow container, put the pump in the water and enjoy.

After this problem was solved, the rocking part had to be modified. This section of the fountain would fill properly, but soon after it would reach a steady state where water would be flowing into the rocking part and out at the same time, as the rocking part was poorly balanced (i.e. there was no rocking motion occurring). Once weight was added to the end of the rocking arm, the fountain functioned decently well, but would not fill/drain completely.
Overall: good quality material and looks nice, but works horribly and had to be modified multiple times to get it to work "correctly". For an item of this price you would hope it would be fully functional straight out of the box....
I personally recommend to NOT BUY.
You need to slow the flow rate of the water pouring out of the tube feeding the bamboo "clacker". Putting in a bottle brush tip into the water feeding tube solved this problem for me. Otherwise the clacker would be clanging every 5 seconds and that gets a little annoying after some time. The very thing you are trying to stay away from in your "relaxing" atmosphere. The other problem is the vibrations caused by the filter motor. With time the vibrations will move the device so potentially it could fall into the pond. I solved this problem by butting it up against some papyrus holding it in place. An improvement would be to use a black tube from the motor to the device instead of a clear one. This may help slow the amount of algae accumulating inside and outside of the tubing. Other than that it is a great little device to add a mechanical interest to your small water pond.
