This album should be not be lumped in with all the uneven, cashed-in posthumous 2Pac releases. Yes, it was released after his death, but only four days after, so obviously it had been prepared well before the tragic event. And unlike the bloated double disc sets to come, it's only 12 tracks long, a proper album length. After Dr. Dre left Death Row, the quality of material released on the label dropped noticeably, but 2Pac actually did the right thing to move away from Daz and Snoop and the rest of them on this album. Hiring a bunch of little-known producers and relying mostly on his own Outlawz crew for vocal support, 7 Day Theory remains fresher and has an identity separate from Dogg Food, Tha Doggfather, and the numerous other soundalike G-Funk albums from the mid 90s. And 2Pac steps up to the plate lyrically and produces his harshest bunch of work. It's not quite the masterpiece that was All Eyez On Me and Me Against The World, but it's still very good.

Like all of his other albums, Makaveli (better known to all of us as Tupac Shakur also known as 2Pac (or Pac for short)) has done it AGAIN!!! Just about the first half of this album along, is smoking! It's hard to say what songs I would say are in the top five or ten. I would have to listen to it again, because I have only heard this album once since I purchased it. But then again, when you are a fan there is no such thing as a favorite song (even songs on the album that were never released on the radio). All I have to say left about Pac is that he is just as popular in his grave as he was when he was alive...maybe a little MORE. For those who are just crazy about Pac's songs, but is not a fan of him/a fan of his/a big fan of him (like myself), need to get this album, rather you have had this album before or never owned this album. Yeah the king of rap did his thing again! 2Pac 4ever!

this is the one everyone will answer when you ask....what is your favorite pac album? soon as the needle hits the vinyl you know why. why is because this one is not only timeless but a seemless/timeless classic. right from the get go you know this aint no made up bull, this is pac thinkin out loud and you all lucky enough to overhear.
lots of controversy behind this one but thats all easily undone as soon as the platter starts spinnin. this one has to bought on vinyl the silence is creepily quiet when its supposed to be, you gonna be taken on a vinyl trip you wont forget, you just want to play it again after it's over, the mastering on this vinyl version blows away the cd version. the improved low end of the vinyl process really brings in pacs low voice so smooth and in charge. the high end is where it belongs with perfectly blended mid's, this vinyl is truly unreal, get a copy before it slips out of print.

The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory is probably 2Pac's most intense cd. It begins with "Bomb First" which is an adrenaline packed gansta rap song that actually made my hair stand on end the first few times I listened to it. But, my hair stayed up listening to "Hail Mary," which is eerie in both the beat and Pac's lyrics. Then comes "Toss it Up," which is a disappointment and probably the only downside of this entire album, and is the only song I ever skip when I listen to this cd (that and Life of an Outlaw, because of the Outlaws, they really have a way of ruining perfectly good Pac songs). The rest of the album, however, maintains the intensity and raw energy of 2Pac, along with intelligent lyrics and possibly the best beats of any 2Pac album.
Tupac is raw, energetic, powerful and a genius lyrically with this album. If this is where 2Pac, or 'Makaveli,' was headed, it really is a shame he was taken away so soon.

My favorite 2Pac release. Tight beats, dope flow, on top of his game. Released posthumously,so title is very fitting as Makaveli is a historical legend who came back from the dead to avenge his death. Every song is tight. Enjoy!

Best Tupac CD/album. Sad to think of how far Pac could have taken hip-hop and music in general had he not been murdered.

On par with Me Against the World and All Eyez on Me but is very different to both, Pac goes off on all his enemies from the guys that shot him to other artists and critics. A variety of spooky songs about reincarnation and murder with a song or 2 for the lady’s topped off with a few chilled out tunes to smoke a blunt too. All in all a quality album. A few clues in there too....... 10/10

This is not just Tupac's greatest album it is also one of the best rap album ever made! I won't bore the reader into the reasons why I think this but every song is brilliant. Every song could have been a single and every track is a classic. This record plays like a greatest hits collection and the fact that 2pac recorded 100s of tracks during this period and cut to 11 for this release speaks volumes about the quality of this album.
For pure fun here are my top 5 greatest rap albums ever:
1.Nas- Illmatic
2.Jay Z-Reasonable doubt
3.Wu Tang Clan-Enter the 36 chambers
4.NWA-Straight Outa Compton
5.Tupac- Makaveli
That's it, peace and love y'all.
