Scott Hildreth knocked it out of the park!!!!! I am not a huge fan of novellas basically because I am a greedy reader; I always want tons, and tons of detail. But not really sure how Mr. Hildreth did it but he did, this story was a wonderful depiction of how love can surprises us and very satisfying from a description stand point from beginning to end!!!!
Anna and Fisher were kindred souls that life threw together and love was the result. Their adventure was fast passed and page turning, and above all sexy. In true Hildreth fashion this story had some excellent supporting characters that will have you cheering in your seat. Do NOT miss these characters; they will stay with you, hurry, and 1-click today. That is it, that is all I got…..
Anna McCay was running from an abusive ex. She never could have imagined how bad her day was about to get when her car broke down and she stepped into a bar looking for a bit of help. She knows exactly what would have happened if fate had not brought Fisher Knox into that bar at the exact moment she needed a hero most.
With a busted up car and nowhere to go, Anna throws in her lot with Fisher and agrees to ride with him across the country until they reach the coast. Not knowing how things will end up when they reach the ocean, Fisher and Anna begin getting to know one another on their journey, both becoming more and more invested.
Will Fisher’s pride get him a new start in life with Anna or a trip back to prison. And will Anna be able to trust in Fisher that he is the man she thinks he is and not one that turns to violence to solve issues even though he was in prison for manslaughter.
Even though Pride was novella length, Scott Hildreth has it jam packed with amazing characters and plot. I wanted to know more about Fisher from the moment he decided his pride was worth another 6 months in prison, and Anna is another strong, yet vulnerable female written as only Scott can. These two fit together like pieces of a puzzle and readers will immediately begin rooting for them to find a way to make a relationship work.
Fans of Scott’s writing will also love the appearance of a few of our favorite bikers from a previous series making an appearance that had me clapping my hands in glee to catch up with them once again in such an unexpected manner.
5 stars for Pride!
These two fit in the most unexpected of ways, neither of them knowing what the future might hold but determined to find it together. As usual, the author writes the hero as a man of honor. A man who knows right from wrong and isn't afraid to use violence when necessary to drive that point home. And Anna recognizes that sense of honor and adds the right amount of brazenness that compliments Fisher's life-long beliefs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one and my only complaint is that it was too short! But Scott Hildreth manages to write a beautiful and oft-times sweet love story just the same and I once again fell for every word, hook, line and sinker! With a touch of holy hotness kind of sexy, this one has it all!!! AND as a bonus, we get a glimpse of that motley crew of bikers towards the end, hopefully warranting a bit more from those Filthy effers.
5 solid stars for making me smile once more!
My Rating 4.5 Stars
When I first saw this collection was coming to fruition I wanted to read them all, I wasn’t sure what I would be reading since it’s all the Seven Deadly Sins, but, as always Scott never disappoints.
This short story had me completely turning the pages, for me this one needed to be longer as I wasn't ready for it to be over. This novella was so very well written had me wanting more of Fisher Knox, and the Filthy Fuckers MC. I'm thinking it's time for a re-read.
