A great read with enough character development to have likeable heroes and a sufficient number of those serving as hate objects. Rather like going on a group tour. I couldn't wait to finish the book, but I didn't want it to end. I have another favorite author in Mr. Robert Dugoni.

Like many books, I could not get into this at first and set it down multiple times. I have a stack of rejects.

Stick with it. This one is worth hanging in for. Great suspense novel with plenty of twists, tension and action. This guy spins quite a tale if you give him a chance. Characters are very well done and engaging.

Have heard a lot about this author and can see why the raves for his books are top. Including the interesting case in this story. Father Martin runs a shelter for homeless boys, pushing the time to close in the evening later and later. Hoping for one more boy to come, before locking the doors, keeping them safe from drugs, and being hustled. The worse happens a boy at shelter is dead, and evidence points to Father Murphy. Or even more so the case goes to an inexperience lawyer, with only 3 years. Lawyer races against time, finds that a nasty cop, doesn't follow protocol. Brilliant plot can the Father who claims he is innocence get off.
Given book by Goodreads, and this is my honest opinion.

The story did not get very exiting to read. It was quite predictable on the ending, that the priest would be cleared all of his crimes. I have never been a big fan of legal thrillers, and this book would not encourage me to start up in that area of my reading.

I am a fan of Dugoni's work but this book leaves me somewhat ambivalent. While the overall plot is pretty good I am left with more questions than answers which if I were to elaborate could lead to spoiler alert. Suffice it to say the ending is somewhat sloppy and I am scratching my head about, shall I say, some of the scenarios. I also would have liked more emphasis on courtroom drama.

Set in 1980s San Francisco, this book takes you back to "car phones" and before the Internet. The interwoven story of Peter's youth is a powerful addition to an already gripping tale. The character development is fantastic and thrilling scenes throughout the book are heart-pounding page turners. I love Dugoni's Tracy Crosswhite series and couldn't put this one down either. Didn't want it to end.

Dugoni has the talent to weave a suspenseful plot with memorable characters, and in this novel he proves his talent is limitless.

While a lawyer tries to defend a priest in a murder charge, he learns no one is above suspicion or the law.

It's a great book, a little complicated and complex, but definitely full of the twists and turns that I really like! It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I really enjoyed the character development and plot growth. Definitely recommend!

The writing technique of these books continues to pull me in...every time! I do so admire the weaving of the actions
with the stories with the characters...I always find these Dugoni`s very hard to put down.

I enjoy reading books by Robert Dugoni. This one in particular, set in San Francisco, was quite good. Politics in the novel were very believable!
Will continue to read Mr. Dugoni.
