This movie received a lot of grief for its total uninhibited irreverence. But if its irreverence doesn't offend you, you can find it a quite pleasing little comic gem. It's about all the misadventures of an American student visiting Mexico when his duffel bag accidently gets switched with another that was sent to verify a mob hit. Confusion and intrigue reign supreme as both parties desperately scramble to undo the mix-up. If you like this kind of comedy watch and enjoy. But if you find it cruelly offensive, don't say I didn't warn you!

Joe Pesci is a bag man for a mob family. His current contract is to deliver a bag containing the heads of eight rivals. This should be a simple delivery but circumstances force a bag switch. Now Pesci has a bag of clothes while a pre-med student has the heads. To make matters worse, the student has just driven into Mexico with his girlfriend's family. Only one small clue can help Pesci track down his cargo before a contract is taken out on himself.

What follows are typically improbable comedy situations that have the heads moving around and being seen by unreliable witnesses while more and more people get involved in trying to straighten out the mess. This gives various characters a chance to develop and show their true mettle. Things begin to get really out of hand but it is successfully tied up at the end with the viewer feeling pretty good about how it all worked out.

I expected this to be a darker comedy with plenty of black humor but it really wasn't. Considering the plot device this was a surprisingly happy and upbeat film. Pesci is very good as the bag man but his role is a support role as best (I guess I had also been expecting to see more of him). But although things were not quite as I had thought they would be it was still a very good movie experience. Check it out.

Joe Pesci seems half asleep the whole film, and obviously took the money and ran. It's his laziest performance of all time.
Not a single laugh the whole film. Not one.
Remember the notoriously bad Weekend at Bernie's? The Plan Nine of bad comedies so bad that only knuckle dragging morons laughed at...
This one is three times worse...

Excellent movie and incredibly funny! Joe Pesci is really funny! I normally don't care much for David Spade, but he is at his best in this movie! One of the funniest parts of the movie is its take on "Mr. Sandman". Dyan Cannon is also hilarious! Is it a ridiculous movie? Yes, and that's what makes it one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! If you can get out of your 'movie reviewer' mode and don't take it too seriously, I think you'll love it too!

I saw this movie on tv, then rented it. I love it! It is no masterpiece, but it is a very refreshing change of pace for a movie! David Spade is awesome, and so is the rest of the cast! If you like quirky comedys, give this one a chance, you will not be dissapointed. Off-the-wall and absolutely hailarious! 8.5 out of 10!

I ran across it on cable and watched it, for lack of anything better to do at the time. Amazingly, I found it absolutely hysterical, laughing so hard, I could hardly breathe! It showcases Pesci's overlooked and under- appreciated comic abilities. If you liked him in My Cousin Vinny, you'll certainly get a kick out of this one. It might be a bit too slap-sticky at times for some people, but it is definitely worth adding to your collection. I will be looking forward to it's eventual release on DVD.

Hilariously funny, an oldie but a good one. Enjoyed this when it first came out and enjoyed it now, watching it with my teenagers. Joe Pesci is absolutely priceless. Some of the other characters could be more developed, but Pesci is at his prime here and keeps the laughs going.

This is one of the funniest movies! I saw it once years ago and remembered it was funny, but I had forgotten just how funny it is! The language is a little rough sometimes, so I would keep it away from small children. Pesci plays the perfect part.
