Review

"We all have our favorites when it comes to the Queen City, whether it's flying pigs, Music Hall, the Cincinnati Reds, or Skyline Chili and Graeter's. Author Wendy Beckman and illustrator Allison Ranieri have put together a book that shines a spotlight on some of our cities most interesting wonders." Cincinnati Family

About the Author

Wendy Hart Beckman is an award-winning freelance writer and editor. Her eighth and ninth books, published in 2014, are Founders and Famous Families of Cincinnati, and University of Cincinnati College of Nursing: 125 Years of Transforming Health Care, respectively. She has also published about three hundred articles in print and online publications, and has received a baker's dozen of awards for her writing, editing and desktop publishing. She is currently working on a novel set in the 1980s. Wendy's bachelor's degrees are in geology and natural science/technical communications from Virginia Tech and the University of Cincinnati. She has a master's degree in English and a graduate certificate in professional writing from UC. Wendy has taught business, scientific and technical writing at the University of Cincinnati and cultural diversity at Miami University. She tutors high school kids in reading, writing, science and English. For adult writers who wish to get published, she holds many workshops each year, from a few hours in length to weekend-long retreats.

Allison Ranieri is a Cincinnati native working hard to patronize all of the area breweries, discover all of the beautiful nature of Ohio she's never seen, draw a lot and draw every day and generally be a better human being than the day before. You can find her giving creative advice and sharing her process on YouTube.
